Chapter seventy-one
"Okay, here we are,"
He pulls his car onto the side of the road. It's very luscious and green here. There are tall trees and lots of plants. The ground is covered with pine needles, making for a very bouncy forest floor.
"Are you sure we're allowed to be here?" I ask him.
"There are no signs saying we can't be here, so?"
I stare at him uneasily.
"C'mon. I come here all the time. Every week,"
I open my car door and get out.
I look up and see all the giant trees surrounding us. The birds' jovial singing.
It really does feel like a different world.
Matt opens his trunk and pulls out a large picnic basket.
"Novah, come here," I walk over to him.
"Grab that blanket," he says and points to a folded black blanket.
I grab it.
"Shut it for me,"
I close up the trunk.
"Alright c'mon,"
He starts walking towards...I don't know what.
We're just walking......
After a few minutes of walking, we get to a tiny, cute, little stream.246Please respect copyright.PENANAbqQJ6IVg0Z
It's not wide or deep enough for either of us to do anything in. It has rocks and stones on the bank and tiny little fern plants. I can hear the sound of the water traveling down it. The sun is shining down on the stream making it look like a perfectly sunny, summer day.
It's lovely.
"Lay the blanket down," Matt orders.
I unfold the blanket and lift it up, letting it fall in place.
I straighten it out properly before sitting down on it. Matt sets the enormous picnic basket down on the black blanket.
"Close your eyes," he says with a smirk on his face.
"Okayyy...." I close my eyes.
"Hurry.....I'm excited," I say giggling.
I hear him rustling around in the picnic basket.
"Now?" I ask impatiently.
"Noooo....." he replies. I can tell he's smiling.
I hear him stand up and then sit back down.
"Now?" I ask, giggling like an idiot.
"Not yettt...." he teases.
I groan in excitement.
"Okay, now," he says. I open my eyes and a stack of plates and two wine glasses and a bottle of pink champagne is in front of me.
"What's all this?" I ask with a smile.
"A picnic. I cooked some food for you. Fried chicken, mac and cheese, salad and my mom made chocolate cake,"
I jump over and throw my arms around him.
"That's so thoughtful of you," I squeal and hug him tightly. I kiss him on the cheek.
"Which ones did you make?"
"Everything except the cake," he says with a proud smile.
I beam at him and kiss his face a few more times.
"That is so sweet of you,"
"You said mac and cheese is your favorite food so I made that too,"
"Awww...." I say and kiss him again. "I can't believe you actually remembered that,"
"Yep. Now sit down and open your gifts,"
"Gifts?" I ask.
I sit back down. He pulls out two tiny boxes with red ribbon on them and hands them to me.
I look up at him and smile questioningly.
"Open them," he encourages with a smile on his face.
I set the bigger one down next to me.
"They're so cute," I say as I pull the red ribbon off of the smaller box.
I see a jewelry store logo on the box after I take off the wrapping paper.
I look at him in awe as I open the box. It's a gold, dainty necklace that has a rose pendant at the end. The necklace is very shiny and sparkly with what looks like....
"Are these diamonds?"
"Yep. And rose gold,"
"Oh my god. How much did it cost?" I ask. It looks expensive.
"The cost doesn't matter. Do you like it?"
"I love it. It's beautiful,"
"Come, let me put it on you,"
I hand him the open box and turn around for him to out the necklace on me.246Please respect copyright.PENANAk3QSromZws
He takes the necklace out of the box and clips it on.
I turn for him to see my new necklace.
"You look stunning," he says with a small smile. I stand up and do a little spin for him.
He laughs that full, hearty laugh that I love to hear. His laugh rings through the forest and way, deep into my heart.
I sit back down. "I hope it didn't cost too much,"
"You're priceless, babe. Nothing I could buy would amount to how much you mean to me and how much I feel for you,"
I smile and catapult myself at him, making him fall back onto the blanket.
I kiss him deeply as he starts to blush. His ears and cheeks turn red.
I laugh loudly.
"Stop laughing at me," he pouts.
"Okay," I say stifling my laughter.
"I'm really happy you like it. Now go open the other one,"246Please respect copyright.PENANAWVPpXrcX8r
I climb off of him and grab the other box.
I rip the ribbon off and take the two ribbons and put them in my purse. You know, for memories.
I unwrap the box and it has the same jewelry logo on it from the last one.
"Honestly Matt, you shouldn't be spending this much money on me,"
"Just open it,"
I open the box and see another rose gold bracelet and diamond stud earrings.
"Matt," I gasp. "You didn't....." I take the bracelet out of the box and see the initials N.N hanging on the bracelet.
Novah Nelson, my initials.
I clasp the bracelet on. I'm speechless.
"Matt......"
"You like it?"
"Of course....I love it but you shouldn't be spending this much money on me,"
"I already told you, no item could amount up to how much you mean to me,"
I clasp the bracelet on and stare at it. It's so pretty and beautiful and I love it with all of my heart.
"It looks gorgeous on you, baby,"
My eyes start to well up.
"Matt your so sweet," He opens his arms and I climb into them.
I lay against him staring up at the forest canopy.
"You know I love you, right?" Matt asks.
"Yes,"
"And I want to give you the world but first I need you to.....give me another chance,"
I turn back and look at him. I can see he's trying. His best. I mean, I shouldn't hold on to the past. He really does love me. I can see it. Just, in his own, special way.
"I mean....I want to believe you but what if....."
"There are no what-ifs, Novah. I love you and want to be with you,"
I look into his eyes for a while. I want to say yes. I really do. I have faith in him. No one else does but I do. He needs me.
I lay my head on his chest.
"Okay,"
"Okay, okay?" he asks excitedly.
"Okay, okay," I say and he kisses me frantically and hugs me tightly.
"But.....you have to stop drinking and no......" I think about the cuts on his wrist. His face goes dark.
"I know. I'll stop,"
"You promise?"
"I promise,"
I lay back on his body. He traces my skin with his finger, something he does often.
"What are you doing with your finger?"
"Fidgeting around,"
"What are you tracing?"
"A heart,"
I smile but feel something poking against my lower back.
"What is that?" I say and turn around. I look down between Matt's legs to see if there's a stick or rock or something but there's nothing there.
"What happened?"
"Something's poking me,"
"Oh, that must be my dick. Stop rubbing up against me," he says smirking.
I cross my arms.
"I'm not rubbing up against you,"
"Yes, you are," he counters.
"Does anybody come out here?" I ask.
"No, I've never really seen anybody else up here? Why?"
I place my hand in between his legs.
He watches me, his infamous smirk stationary on his face.
I unzip his pants and pull them down a bit.
I start kneading my hand against his bulge, watching him watch me, his eyes lit up with lust. He licks his bottom lip. I watch the sun reflect off of his eyebrow ring. He changed it. It used to be a little metal ball.
I watch his bulge grow harder underneath my hand. He groans softly, keeping his eyes on my face.
I pull his boxers and pants down more and move my head in between his legs, taking him in my mouth.
He places his hands on my shoulder, squeezing as I suck on the tip of penis hard.
"Fuck, fuck. Slow down," he says huskily.
I move my mouth up and down his large penis slowly.
It starts throbbing in my mouth as he digs his fingers into my shoulder. His breathing gets heavier as I wrap my tongue around the tip.
I speed up and take his length deeper into my throat.
"I'm about to cum....." he warns and grips my arm.
I take his length in my mouth as deep as my gag reflex will allow.
A warm, salty liquid slides down my throat as Matt's penis goes limp in my mouth. I swallow the liquid, smacking my mouth.
He sighs and lets go of my arm.
I sit up, wiping my mouth with the back of my hand. Matt pulls up his boxers and pants, still breathing heavily.
I lean back against him and he lies back. We stare up at the forest canopy and the few clouds we can see through the trees.
"Are you hungry?" he asks.
"What do you mean? I just had lunch,"
He chuckles and kisses my shoulder.
"You'll stay with me tonight?" he asks.
"Where?"
"My apartment," he says.
I turn my head back and look at him.
"Apartment?" I ask. I thought he lived at the frat house.
"Yeah. You can have the other room if you want,"
"I thought you lived at the frat house,"
"I do but I have an apartment as well. Unless you want to stay at my parent's guest house. Whatever you want,"
He's completely missing the point. He owns a whole apartment?! What?
"When did you get an apartment?"
"Graduation gift from my mom,"
"Well, then why do you live at the frat house?"
"I didn't want to live in an apartment by myself. That's stupid,"
"But I thought you liked being alone,"
"I do. I don't want a place to myself though. I'm not used to that. I've always had to share my things. I don't like the idea of living somewhere alone,"
"Then why do you want to stay there now,"
"We," emphasis on the 'we', "wouldn't be staying there. We'd be spending the weekend,"
"We?" I ask.
He looks away from my face.
"Unless you don't want to. Which is fine,"
I contemplate the possible benefits.246Please respect copyright.PENANAnnYu1oVHOX

I wouldn't have to use the dorm showers.
It would only be for the weekend.
I would be with him and he wouldn't be alone doing anything.....questionable.
"Okay," I finally agree.246Please respect copyright.PENANAd4HeDAz0Sg
He smiles.
"But I have to get a few things. And you can't tell Skylar,"
"What will you tell her then?"
"Yeah, you're right,"246Please respect copyright.PENANAeEFuTB2MH4
What can I tell her?
"I don't know,"
"Just tell her you're going to visit a friend upstate,"
"What if she sees me somewhere?"
"She won't,"
"You don't have to go anywhere. I mean, we won't go anywhere she goes often,"
I nod my head. "Okay."
I lean back against him.
"I'm so excited,"
"Me too," he says and squeezes my hand.
