"Between me and you, I don't think that that's possible. Not with someone like you." Before I have a chance to ask him to clarify we reach the front of the line where we're supposed to purchase out tickets. Jon pays for him and Skylar's tickets and I see her beam and give him a smooch on the cheek. I start to take out my wallet but when I look up and I see that Matt has already started to move.
"Wait," I shout and he stops. "I haven't paid yet." he takes my hand, looking a little bit bewildered, and pulls me along.
"It's fine. I paid," he says casually.
"Do you want me to pay you back?" I probe.
"Nope."
"Well, thank you," I say.
"No problem." He answers. "Hungry?" he asks.
"Where's Jon and Skylar?" I ask.
"Oh, they went to go do their own thing. Want to get something to eat?" I knew it! Skylar dragged me along to get me to hang out with Matt. Honestly, she has way too much faith in a non-existent relationship. I'm not mad though because low-key I wanted to see him. He intrigues me. He makes my blood boil but sometimes in a really intoxicating way.
"Yeah, I'm hungry. What were you saying a second ago about being friends? Skylar told me that you don't date."
"What do you want to eat?" he asks as if he didn't just hear me ask a question. He's most definitely avoiding the question altogether. Its very, very irritating.
"We should get funnel cakes," I suggest.
"Okay." He agrees and then pulls me into yet another line. "I don't date, to answer your question. But then again I never mentioned dating." I stare at him.
"Okay, but you said that you didn't think it was possible to stay just friends. And what are we doing right now?" I ask accusingly.
"Not being just friends doesn't have to be dating. There are other ways to go about a relationship that is more than a friendship," he adds and his hand brushes against mine. "And right now we're hanging out. Isn't that you what you want?" he chaffs. "Cause' I'm starting to think that you have other intentions." he purrs putting extra emphasis on other. He has a completely devilish almost sinister expression. Like he can see right through me, right down to my core where my deepest secrets and desires lie.
"Right now, I want a funnel cake," I say. He flashes one more devious smile at me then swivels around and orders one funnel cake. 351Please respect copyright.PENANArqv7F7LUc3
He needs to eat something too.
"What about you?" I ask. He looks at me dotingly and turns back to the window. He never answers my question.
"Hi, Matt." I turn and see a girl in a black mini skirt with fishnet stockings underneath and a black tube top. She puts her arms around Matt's neck and he pulls her aside. He says something to her. She turns and looks at me censoriously. She turns and walks away from Matt.
"Was that your girlfriend?" I sneer.
"Obviously not," he replies disdainfully. He laughs like its a bad joke.
"Who was that?" I ask, pouting, and crossing my arms.
"Alessia. You obviously don't know her. She's like that with every guy." he states matter-of-factly and hands me a funnel cake.
"No, I think you've slept with her," I confess.
"No shit. Who hasn't slept with her?" he jeers. I look at him, very much disgusted.
"Anyway, what ride do you want to go on?" he asks, trying to change the subject.
"The Ferris wheel," I say without hesitation.
"Yeah, I was gonna say the same thing." I take a bite out of the funnel cake. Not as good as I'd expected.
"Want a bite?" I ask as we're passing all sorts of rides. Bumper cars, carousel, a million different types of roller coasters, swings. I hold up the funnel cake to his mouth and he takes a bite, maintaining eye contact with me as he sinks his teeth into the powder sugar-coated cake. Wow, that sends shivers down my spine. I snicker and he smiles at me. He's so damn cute when he wants to be.
