Lucid Dreaming is a phenomena or an ability, depending on whether this is invoked intentionally or subconsciously. While the concept is very similar to that of Astral Projection, the AVPSI only examines Lucid Dreaming as its own unique and standalone human ability. As it was mentioned in the previous section, the Altiri are Scions who do not possess the ability to readily fall asleep, and so ordinary dreams are a mystery to them. Therefore, much like what was the case in Astral Projection study, the idea of lucid dreaming must be examined in humans only. While many have claimed that lucid dreaming has nothing to do with psionic abilities, others argue that is must have some relation, due to other details that will be mentioned later.8Please respect copyright.PENANApuY3jotF8S

The AVPSI and all relevant Scryers have defined the ability as such: “Lucid Dreaming is the ability, (whether triggered at will or automatically), in which a dream state occurs where the user has full control of their actions, their thoughts, and their consciousness during their unique dream state, often achieved when the user becomes aware that they are dreaming at the same time.” Note that this definition does not claim anything specific on the grounds of the user being capable of controlling the other aspects and details of their own dream. This is because some who have reported lucid dreaming to the AVPSI (the purged experiments) have mentioned that (in all cases) they have been unable to control other naturally occurring details of the dream, and are instead taken along for the ride.8Please respect copyright.PENANAgDwfblMA5l

The phenomena is an interesting one based on the difference in data available to the public, and data available only among the purged experiments. Publicly available data, including online tutorials as well as other self-proclaimed human lucid-dreamers - is heavily scrutinized by the Scryers and clairvoyants who observe and analyze such data. To date, there have actually been far more claims of lucid-dreaming than anything else, yet the results collected by the clairvoyants reveal that the likelihood that this ability even exists is essentially zero, coupled with the fact that nearly all lucid-dreamers are either faking their claims for popularity, or have done nothing to help distinguish whether their ability is real or not.8Please respect copyright.PENANAaSjigWsixI

However, when the purged experiments are questioned about this ability, the direction of the phenomena changes significantly. Though only about 4/16 (the others having perished before this project started) reported to have experienced lucid dreaming, their telling of their personal dreaming experience made some convincing cases. Because of what they know, the subjects do not make habit of making any public proclamations, to avoid creating conflicts for both sides, which includes the claims that we Altiri are aliens to their world. With lucid-dreaming alone, the elements of its makeup are still much easier to bring up in various human communities without as much blowback.8Please respect copyright.PENANA3DqySPJz1X

All four of these subjects had one factor in common: their lucid-dreaming experiences (while often limited and random) only occurred on dates that were during or after the period in which they were purged, and never before. This suggests that either the purge itself or something psionic in nature could be related to lucid-dreams. Still, the leading theory is that lucid-dreaming is not a psionic ability at all, but rather a method in which the subconscious and conscious mind works together during sleep in an intelligent manner to sort details, a process that is usually improved somewhat as a result of the purge, even if only temporary.8Please respect copyright.PENANA8a0xr4E8EX

Questioning about the dreaming experience resulted in similar aspects for each story, such as how - when the lucid dreaming began, similar dreams followed shortly after, while in some, such as Experiment #24, the lucid-dreaming came to an end on its own never to return since. More importantly, there were other commonalities between each dream. As stated before, many who claim to lucid dream also claim they can control every single aspect of their dream as well as their own actions. However, in the case of the stories told by the purged Humans, the only thing they could control each time was themselves. Possessing knowledge of and about their lucid dream did not seem to change the direction or details of the dreamscape as it was happening, despite how they could interact differently with other NPCs of these dreams. Another shared commonality was the randomness of each lucid dream. They claimed to have no control whether one would trigger or not, just like ordinary dreams, and nothing they did had any effect on the frequency of these dreams. The dreams usually came to them in waves, then at some point ended, putting an end to these chains. The subjects later attempted the online tutorials to see if they could manually trigger these dreams again, but to no avail.8Please respect copyright.PENANAFgxJ6eEelF

Since these purged subjects are technically proven Scions, their claims of lucid dreaming hold more weight to the AVPSI and Scryers than other unassociated individuals. Still, the matter is under investigation, since the overall consensus appears to be that lucid dreams do exist, and have something to do with the process of the purge. As interesting as the topic may be, the AVPSI still considers this ability one that has yet to be determined, since the subject is incredibly difficult to prove without more information.
