We do have a new car, well actually it's my designated car. It's red and it's not majorly fancy because I know how to rein Jay in. When he gets that look in his eyes, the one where he impulsively buys stuff that we do not need. The car is modern and has all of the gadgets you could need but it's not a show off car. It's a mini clubman, it's a little bit bigger than a classic mini and I love it.

I've parked up at university in our usual spot and Jay has enjoyed being a backseat driver the whole trip. I let him get away with it because waking up to him is a dream especially when he's in a playful mood.

After kissing me everywhere he swiftly began pleasuring me. We then showered together and he made breakfast. I'm wearing my ring, and I smile looking down at it. I must not lose it even at dance. Today it's warm and I'm showing off my tan in a mini skirt and cami. My natural Australian tan will not be rivalled by anybodies today.

"Ready to go see the others" he nods looking over at Matty and Ross. I glance at Jay, his hair has grown and he's tied half of it up with a band. He's wearing a collection of bracelets and a white T-shirt. I gaze at the outline of his nipple ring and tattoos through the shirt. It's distracting me, to say the least.

I laugh and open my door stepping out into the warm air, away from our air conditioned car. He gets out the other side and pulls his bag over his shoulder, shutting the car door and leaning on the side. Our friends wouldn’t recognise this car, they’re used to seeing us in his Audi and I watch as Ross clocks us surprised from across the lot.

Once I've locked up our car he walks in step with me and grasps my hand in his as we head over to the others. My tummy flips a little not only at the feeling of his hand in mine but also seeing the others and their reaction to our engagement. My sandals clinking on the pavement as we approach Matthew and his 4x4.

"Tay" Ross smiles his easy grin on our approach. His arms are already extended and I smile back at him. Ross always makes me feel welcome and wanted. He throws his cigarette away and wraps his arms around me.

"Congratulations both of you" Matty finally says, rather formally. Taking a drag on his cigarette he then swiftly stubs it out. He smiles briefly and pulls his leather jacket on and walks away to art.

"That went well" I say quietly during his quick departure. Ross laughs a little and then grabs his bag putting his motorcycle helmet away.

"Anything new?" I ask whist we're all walking to psychology. Climbing the usual stone steps to the building like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders, having finally seen Matthew and even though his reaction wasn’t entirely positive, it still went better than I had anticipated. I had imagined a full on brawl in the university parking lot.

Ross grins from ear to ear and I remember how much I like making him smile. He takes away my anxiety from the situation with Matthew. Jay guides us over to our usual seats and I sit next to him holding onto his forearm. Just as the lights dip and the lecture begins Jay leans into me.

I spend the lecture taking notes and he spends the lecture staring at me. Not uncomfortably just in the way that he always has done. My legs are crossed in his direction and his warm hand is rested on my thigh.

Everybody is seated on the collection of sofas in the corner and I notice the canteen now has a pool table, I quip with Jay that I will be beating him at a game of pool one day soon. Joshua Morelli is seated at the table and I register that he is now part of our social group. A new girl seated with him, practically on his lap with her platinum blonde hair. Next to them is Rach and Nate. Rach smiles at me as I approach with Jay. Matty is opposite sitting with Ross.
