“If you guys don’t stop that right now, I’m tying you to the roof of this bus!” They had been barely eight hours on the road, and with only six to go in the morning, Cameo was fed up with the younger kids’ incessant complaining. A loud scream came from the back of the bus. “What now? he asked, sighing.
Infinity came running from the back. “It’s Thomas! He’s causing trouble.”
“What’s he doing?”
“What he did to me.”
Cameo snarled. He slammed on the brake and yanked the keys out of the ignition. He stalked to the back, shoving kids out of the way. Thomas had Holly Carter pinned up against the wall and was kissing up and down her neck. She was crying, scared speechless.
“Wilson! What do you think you’re doing?” Cameo roared. Thomas laughed and dropped Holly.
“Whatever I want! And besides, you can’t stop me.”
“Really? I see you’re still limping. If you couldn’t take me down before, I doubt you could now.”
“Don’t you remember? You’ve been training me.”
Cameo smirked. “Oh, I still have some tricks up my sleeve,” he growled. “You couldn’t beat me if you tried.”
“Oh, yeah? You, me, outside. Now. We each get one weapon. Fight to the death.” He stuck out his hand. Cameo grabbed it in a grip like a vise.
“You’re on.”

Ten minutes later, the boys stood outside in the pouring rain, water streaming through their hair, down their cheeks, soaking their clothes. Infinity stood between them, looking terrified as she prepared to referee the match.
“You have chosen your weapons?” she asked in a shaky voice. The boys nodded silently, angrily. “What have you decided?”
Cameo held up a small taser. Thomas held up a gleaming sword. Infinity gulped.
“Then let the match… begin.” She stepped backward until her back was against the bus.
Thomas charged Cameo, sword held tight in his hands.
“Я явно недостаточно хорошо вас учил, или, возможно, вы просто не слушали. Ты никогда не начинаешь битву. Вы позволяете своим противникам делать это.” Cameo stepped easily to the side, avoiding the sharp tip of the sword. He grabbed one of Thomas’s arms and pinned it behind his back. With his other hand, he snatched the sword out of the other boy’s hand as he howled in pain. “Ты ведь понимаешь, что не выиграешь?”
Twisting around, Thomas wrenched his arm away. Cameo took the sword and hurled it at one of the buses, where it lodged fast.
“Ты не получишь это обратно!”
Thomas lunged at Cameo, catching him with a punch to the jaw. Cameo’s chin split open again, and he hissed in pain, spitting blood.
“Aw, did that hurt?” Thomas jeered. “If it did, it won’t hurt as much as this!” He leapt at Cameo and grabbed his arm.
“Что, думаешь, это больно?”
Thomas smiled sadistically and dug his fingers into Cameo’s wound.
Cameo screamed in pain.
Infinity gasped and lurched forward, trying to get to him, but Ethaniel grabbed her and held her in place.
Fighting the agony, Cameo strained to grab the taser hooked on his belt, finally grasping it. Thomas was laughing, and at the sight of his smug face, Cameo found the strength he needed to thrust the taser into Thomas’s side, pull the trigger, and yank his arm away.
Thomas shook as the electricity coursed through his body, then dropped to the ground unconscious.
“Я не убью ни одного из своих,” he said dryly, “но как только эта война закончится, ты сдохнешь."324Please respect copyright.PENANAHHQGem5CsI
