Today, I found out that my senator played a role in the nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida. He voted in favor of people on the terrorist watch list being able to purchase assault rifles. 52 beautiful, wonderful, innocent people died because our gun control policy has not changed. This wouldn’t have happened or wouldn’t have been as severe if that terrorist didn’t have legal access to guns. Stricter background checks aren’t good enough anymore. We need more. If you don’t agree, if you don’t like the LGBTQ+ community, then don’t go on a killing spree. Don’t be mean and say hurtful things. There is a way to express your opinion without being so negative and violent. You don’t have to agree with it, but you must respect it. It’s their lives, it’s who they are. If you don’t like it, that’s fine. But, unless they’re hurting you, then just let it be.

Military and law enforcement personnel have those jobs to keep us safe. They are the one’s who need the guns to protect. Even though good people, who are not taking advantage of guns have them, it’s still too dangerous and risky for anyone else to have them. There’s too many shootings, too many bad people out there who can get a hold of guns for them to be out in the US. The policies we have now are not enough anymore. She’s uploaded a video with her opinions to YouTube (I’m Afraid of You by Hannah Hart or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=maIqBhtTxrQ ). She’s a very strong and valiant person for doing so.
