Here are the rules!

Rules:

Swearing is allowed - not too much, you don't want that language to take over your writing

If something is 18+, please make a warning in the beginning of your entry - 18+ is NOT required (I get it, not everyone is comfy with reading these)

Triggers! - If there are any possible triggers in your entry, make sure to address them in the beginning so that your readers know what to be ready for

Author notes - These aren't required, however, I love reading what the author thinks about they wrote and what it means to them

Me: Well, yes, there is!

The prompt for this contest is. . .

What do you do when you fall in love with your sister's husband? I've been there. I know how it goes. I hate it. It hurts. let me tell you how I survived this crazy moment in time. And who knows. . Maybe it ended in my favor.

My foot tapped to the beat as my hand moved my pencil wherever it needed to go. I softly hummed and closed my eyes, the breeze stinging my face. Maybe this isn’t toobad. Professor Collins isn’t really to blame but I still get pissed off about the fact he won’t chill out about me falling behind a little. I spun in my chair to see Dylan standing at the doorway; arms crossed while he leaned into the doorway.

“Hey, how was it today?” He asked, clearing his throat.

“Fine”

“Do you need help? You look a little stressed.”

“I’m fine, okay?” I stood and put my things away. My heavy bag is thumping into the closet. The bristles of the cold, purple, light hair brush pulled through my hair. Dylan said nothing else. Instead, he just stood there and looked at an old picture of Lyla and me when we were kids. I sprayed perfume on my neck and wrists.

“You were so young when we met. I remember you two were always together when I came over. He chuckled. My legs carried me over and I took the picture off of the wall and set it face down. We used to be like that. Now? She wishes I was dead I bet.I landed back into my chair and sighed. He came over and crouched in front of me. “What’s wrong?” He has never looked at me like this. Swiftly turning my head, I answered with ‘nothing.’ His fingers touched my face to make me look at him. “Tell me.” My mind was racing a mile a minute. I didn't know what was going on.

“You’re doing it now. Of all people. You. Stop treating me like a kid. I’m not one! You don’t have to be this nice, caring, brother-in-law to me. Lyla won’t care or notice. You don’t even have to talk to me. Stop babying me. Just. . .” a tear rolled down my cheek, and I looked at him. Regret. He is regretful. At this moment, I regret. He wiped away the tears and leaned close to me. His breath stung my lips as we both sat there waiting for something to happen. I hoped that someone would walk through the front door so I wouldn’t have to let him know how I feel. “Dylan. I. . .” Before I could do anything more, his lips were softly pressing against mine. A pulse in my entire body shook me. I shouldn’t be doing this.Weshouldn’t be doing this.I ever so slightly kissed him back

I design video games and slot machines. So, give me your best story about the day in the life of a video game character. This doesn't have to be a popular game or even a game that exists. However, please include the name of the video game in your title.

NO...

Video game character who are transported out of the video game and into the real world. (Enchanted)

Real people who are sucked into a video game. (Tron)

Video game characters who realize they're in a video game. (Wreck-it Ralph)

Story length is 300 to 1000 words long. NO .. bigotry, racism, overt sexual content, overt swearing or overt violence. Nothing specifically political or religious.

This is my first time judging a contest. I am not strict on grammar or spelling as long as it's not distracting. I will judge the stories one to three days after the contest ends. Good luck.

Write a mystery. It can be about anything from who murdered the millionaire to who stole the cookie out of the cookie jar. However, there are a few stipulations.

1) There has to be at least one suspect

2) There has to be a twist

Other than that, you have free rein to do as you please. Enjoy!
