One would imagine that the God of Memory might remember she ended the world, but Papyrus doesn't even know why she ended up mortal, let alone why she decided to ruin life for everyone else.
Papyrus, God Scribe, finds herself in the wastes of a Decopunk nation state that is teetering toward a revolution. Fallen Gods, reincarnating kings, cybernetic mutants, cannibal cabals, and violent religious orders vie for supremacy outside its domed, bubble-like cities--all waiting for their chances to overtake and overthrow the ruling Houses within them.
As Papyrus quests to find her memories and discover what really happened to her and her divine kin in the time before, the Protector of Forgotten Things must decide if she wants to simply continue being a recorder of history... or become an active participant in its unfolding.
