Because the vortex was a split decision they're was no time to teach them how to avoid certain...side effects. 

For starters, I told you that it was a direct route to my apartment, but I never said exactly where in my apartment. 

Vincent and Maggie were lucky. They ended up in the spare room floor.

Because I had the most experience in dealing with vortex's I ended up in my room.

Cole ended up in the kitchen. Unfortunately, he ended up in the fridge and what does a fridge have?! 

Food. 

He ate everything. Even the 3 day old anchovy pizza. 

But, I think Matt got the worst of it.

He ended up in the bath, fell backwards into the shower and woke up absolutely soaked. 

That's one way to wake someone up. 

That was about an hour ago.

Right now, Cole was out shopping replacing all the food he ate, 

Matt was having a boiling hot shower, trying to warm himself up from waking up in freezing cold water an hour before, Vincent was kneeling next to Maggie who was still unconscious lying on the guest bed worrying so much that he dared not move an inch in case she woke up. 

And I was trying to work out my next move in the investigation. 

Suddenly Vincent let out a yell and I rushed into the guest room to see what was going on. 

Maggie was up. But I couldn't stop myself from smirking at the situation.

Maggie had Vincent pinned down and in a headlock and was yelling her head off while Vincent was begging her to stop and apoligising for everything he had done. 

I would be feeling sad for Vincent right now, if it wasn't soo funny!

Maggie was a petite girl with flaming red hair and bright green eyes. 

But she may look weak but my God, she took down Vincent in two seconds flat. 

I eventually decided to break it up before she took Vincent's head off.

I always keep my gun nearby, so I pointed it at her and raised my eyebrows at her until she let him go.

She leant back against the bed in a huff with her arms folded and was giving Vincent death glares as I rolled my eyes and put my gun back into my jacket pocket and sat on the edge of the bed and threatened,

"Vincent. Unless you want to be dead in less than 5 seconds either by myself or the Goat girl over there, I'd suggest you sit down and keep your trap shut while I find out what the hell she knows."

He scampered quickly over to the nearby armchair and didn't make a sound. 

The girl growled at the both of us and prepared to strike but I stared her down, daring her to make the next move. 

"And as for you." I glared back at her. 

"If you dare make another move, these handcuffs will be on you quicker than you can say 'busted.'

We clear?"

I held up the handcuffs, to show I wasn't kidding around. 

After a few minutes, she bowed her head in defeat and nodded.

"OK. I won't hurt him. I'll tell you everything I know, I swear. Only..if you do two things for me."

I raised my eyebrows, questioning her motives.

"And what might that be?

I'm not exactly in the mood for negotiating."

She gave a wan smile and replied

"I want him out." She gestured to Vincent.

"Done." I replied as Vincent began to protest, I stood up and punched him in the face and knocked him out cold before he could even comprehend what had happened.

I shrugged my shoulders and said,

"He deserved it. I've always wanted to do that."

Maggie smirked at my actions and replied,

"I think we're gonna get on quite well, if you keep that up."

I chuckled. "Same with you. Nice headlock by the way."

She began to laugh. "Not as good as your punch. Nice shot!"

I grinned. "Let's just say I've had my fair share of bad relationships."

"I can relate to that." She replied and held out her hand.

I shook it and said, "Mitchie Carmichael, Paranormal Detective. Nice to meet you."

"Magdalene Cross,  Goat girl." she replied. 

I grinned at the use of my nickname for her.

"You said you wanted two favours from me before you told me anything. What's the second?"

Suddenly, she stopped grinning and looked down at her hands.

"How. How did you heal me?"

I looked up in shock. 

'How did she know I healed her?'

I calmed myself down and replied,

"What do you mean?"

She suddenly growled at me and shouted back angrily

"I know it was you. Don't lie to me. I want to know...I. Need to know. Please." 

I sighed. And decided to make a bargain of my own. 

"Alright, I'll tell you."

"But you have to tell me everything you know, first. From the beginning. And only then will I tell you what you want to know.  It's called co operating. I'm the detective. I'll ask the questions here. And if your good, I'll tell you the information you want to know in exchange. Or I can get you locked in a neutralised cell for assaulting the chief detective of the paranormal unit.  

As you may have noticed already, I can be very persuasive when I need to be. 

"Got it?" 

She closed her eyes and breathed deeply. 

"Alright. You win."

I smiled and grabbed my notebook from my jacket pocket and my pencil which held up my hair. 

"Ready? Let's start with how you met my unconscious ex boyfriend over there." 

I made myself comfy, dragging over the armchair which Vincent was slumped out cold beside it and pulled it towards the bed, sat down, leaned my feet against the bed and motioned for her to begin.
