Once upon a time, there was a powerful family whose house rested on a hill, hidden away in the country. They were the Feathers family, their last head was a man named Lucian. The family was now gone, and only heard about in the old history books of Europe. But, one of the family still remains alive, long after the fall of the family two and a half centuries back. Who is it, you ask? Well, it is no other than Lucian Feathers, the last heir of the family. 689Please respect copyright.PENANAnqjvlYXsKZ

In this world, the way people live and die is all based on their love choices, similar to soul mates. If you love someone, you're bond to die together, if you don't find someone to love romantically, you will perish alone. But, what about the people whom love someone but it one-sided? Well, they are forced to live for an eternity. Not many people love one long enough to be cursed to live forever, but Lucian was one of the few. He had a great reputation, and was often seen with his wife in public with a gentle smile, whom he married for the family's sake, and not because he was interested in her, she had a lover, and they considered themselves friends who had a child together. He helped his family rise even higher in the ranks, but the family crumbled as soon as the economy was crushed. He slowly let his servants go, even commanding some when they refused to leave his side, and divorced his wife so she could live with her lover, with their child. His ex-wife and the loyal servants made sure the mansion would remain, even long after the public believed Lucian had passed away, because they knew about the master's secret. 689Please respect copyright.PENANAxhVc1NjVDr

They knew about how he loved one man, but was not allowed to marry him. They knew the man whom their master loved was close to him, always by his side. They knew how the man their master loved, loved someone else, who in turn, loved the man Lucian loved. They knew the man who Lucian loved did not think of their relationship as something more than servant and master. They knew the man whom Lucian loved was his head butler, his educator, his most loyal servant. They knew that the man whom their master loved didn't realize Lucian's feelings for him. They also knew that Lucian was happy for the man when he announced he was interested in the lady who made Lucian's favorite desserts, and wished to marry her. 689Please respect copyright.PENANAtFrwSP8err

Lucian remained in the mansion, all alone, gazing at the flower garden that used to be maintained by his butler, Wystan. The mansion was left alone for most of the time, the government would have people come by to clean the mansion and fix anything one a month, but that was the only time Lucian had to hide from people. He would often stay in the secret library that was connected to his room, which he maintained himself and made sure that no one finds about about his safe haven. The pages of the books were yellowed, and he's read them a least twenty times each, two and a half centuries of living and nearly two of their centuries in hiding was a quiet life. He also read the books in the main library, which to his surprise, still had every book he placed there on the shelves. He didn't move anything around, and made sure that everything looked as the cleaning people left it, in order to not have them suspect people have come and messed with the site. He would maintain the garden, and made sure that it was perfect so no one would come and touch the garden area. It was where his most beautiful memories resided in, after all. He would use the scissors that were accidentally left behind to trim the plants, and secretly draw water from the nearby fresh water stream. His clothes were old, but not in the sense of wear, but the fashion was. 689Please respect copyright.PENANATLo9xFhxSq

"Master Lucian?" A young adult male, who looked extremely like Wystan, called out to him as he was trimming the roses. A young lady was also with him. 689Please respect copyright.PENANAh7a2QUgcn3

"Ah, welcome Lawrence, Micah," Lucian greeted, his appearance deceiving people from his actual age, and the two would only be reminded by his voice and his speaking manner. "It has been a while, hasn't it?" 689Please respect copyright.PENANAhW270zdDm6

"Yes, I apologize, we have been busy with our studies," Micah responded with her sweet tone that reminded Lucian of his ex-wife. She held out a bag, and Lucian took the bag after he set the scissors down onto the railing of the bird bath. "More clothing, I'm sure the ones I made a few months ago are all worn out. I'll retrieve them from your room and mend them for you." 689Please respect copyright.PENANA11L2VNKLwP

"So gracious, I'm so sorry to have to trouble you with these tasks. Being from a different era and living in isolation for so long, I don't think I can get used to your lifestyle," Lucian chuckled.689Please respect copyright.PENANA0LNNzTQrAu

"It's alright, your stories of the past are very entertaining, and I'm happy to see such a beautiful place once in a while," Lawrence smiled. "I've brought you some food, even if you don't need to eat, I'm sure you still love the taste." 689Please respect copyright.PENANAGz1nXsXOts

"Ah, yes. I do enjoy your desserts and meals very much, they remind me of Wystan's and Marianne's food," Lucian then waved his hands, signaling them to come into the mansion. "Come in and please, enjoy your time here." Micah put the worn clothes into her backpack and helped Lucian put his new clothing into the closet in the secret library. Lucian still had his incredibly old clothes he used to wear in his bedroom closet, but didn't wear them or touch them even, in order to make sure they remained in the same condition. He would rest in the library as well, using the old couch as a bed. The two college students couldn't do much aside from tailoring Lucian clothing and giving him some food, because they couldn't do anything to the mansion and getting anything to the mansion was difficult without other people's help, which wasn't something they wanted. If they got someone to help, there was a risk that they would find out someone was living there. 689Please respect copyright.PENANAGRL2hqlmzL

"Master Lucian, could I ask you a question?" Micah asked as they headed towards the dining hall, so they could have the food Lawrence brought over. 689Please respect copyright.PENANA3ud13Tftx1

"Would it be alright if Lawrence and I wrote a novel about your life?" Micah opened the door to the dining hall, where Lawrence was waiting for them at the large table. Lucian didn't respond until they sat down as the table.689Please respect copyright.PENANADZ0iUPATbB

"Of course, I believe that what you've experience would become a wonder historical fiction, Master Lucian," Lawrence said truthfully as he handed the older man a slice of cake along with a silver fork. "Nowadays, novels can be inspired by anything. There are stories about different worlds filled with magic and many other things. Nothing has to have a reason to be written in the book in this generation. Novels are entertainment, more so than ever." 689Please respect copyright.PENANAjqCXk03svt

"I see, I see," Lucian chuckled. "Of course you can, feel free to write down everything. You can do whatever you'd like. Write down every single detail of my life or only use a small bit. Do as you'd like." Micah and Lawrence grinned happily in response. "I also guess that means I'll have to tell you everything about me then. All of my secrets, all of my thoughts, everything, so you can write the perfect novel about my past."
