A girl against her own creation,

Fighting against that which makes her real,

Fighting against that which makes her important,

Fighting against that which makes her someone.

A young girl, beautiful but not blessed,

Cursed with a choice,

A choice between a untimely end,

A choice that serves not as an opportunity,

But as a rapture against her optimism.

.

A behind-the scenes scenario,

Of the raucous and rambunctious,

That captured what was so true,

Yet so forbidden, so untimely,

Forcing a dainty hand to re-create her vision,

And cover up her own experienced world.

.

A picture worth so many words,

Yet given so few,

As it was painted not out of curiosity or creativity,

But out of malice and fury,

So that it now sits in obscurity.

.

For the young girl hundreds of years my prime,

I grimace upon her pictures,

As I see them and recognize that the struggles,

That I, and young girls of my day, trudge against,

Are truly untimely, and of old tradition.
