"Don't jump."
The rain pours into the ocean, water meeting water in holy union.
"You're important."
The rough bark of the branch digs into my thighs as I look down from the soaring height.
"You deserve to live. I'll help you. I'll be there for you."
She doesn't know my life. She doesn't know what I saw, what I felt, what I did.
"It's okay. You're okay."
The banshees wail in my ears, silent to everyone else.
I jump.
