Karli walked through the night with Isaac ahead of her, the silence between them only broken by the sounds of the night coming to life. Crickets chirping, birds chirping as they turned in for the night, and the sounds of the Hakalanth becoming more restless as the sun left the world to the guise of the night.

Karli stood beside Isaac walking and looking around, the silence between them staying as they walked. Karli looked at him and stopped him, pointing to a tree they saw three large claw marks in it. Isaac’s head rose as he looked towards the tree and began to hurry over Karli right beside him, arriving at the point they found a Hakalanth Screamer hive.
Screamers were ape-like creatures that had the heads of wolves and the body of primates, allowing for a swiffer movement than either of the beasts they seemed to spawn from. Isaac slid to a stop and tapped his foot on the floor, soon they saw it. Surrounding them from all ends were red eyes and sharp teeth cutting through the darkness, standing side by side Isaac and Karli waited.
The trees began to rise and shower them in darkness, almost aiding the screamers and hiding them. In the darkness one swung from a branch diving down at Karli only for its entire head to explode and its body to turn to black smoke. Following this attack one rushed Isaac only for Karli to stab it into the ground with her spear, another rushed in for a follow up and with a slight twist and tug she swiftly pulled her spear apart and launched it at the incoming attacker.
Kicking one down Isaac stomped its head in and kicked the armor plating at another one before it vanished and killed that one too. One after the other the horde was dispatched with precise strikes flowing one after the other killing them off until the entire pod was cleared out. Karli would wipe some blood off of her face and fix the bun keeping her hair up as she looked at Isaac who was stomping a plating to dust glaring angrily.
