"Here have a pancake" I say to Jay, we're standing in the kitchen. I draped his button up shirt on this morning and he is shirtless just wearing shorts. The sun blazing through the terrace sending pools of light into the kitchen.

He occasionally hums the melodies in my ear and it's making me chuckle. He's not shaved his face fuzz in days, and personally I love it. Even if it tickles me whenever he whispers in my ear.

Just like two young boys sitting at the table together after a spat the night before, they talk to each other and eat the pancakes I'm making. I switch the song over to something more upbeat, Jay protests but I get away with it. After all I'm the one making all of the breakfast. I sing along to Maggie Roger's and fry up some bacon in the pan.

Rachel and Christopher leave together first, after a lot of hugs and goodbyes. She explains she's going baby shopping and dragging him along. He laughs saying it's not a problem, and that he'll help her to find a perfect baby shower present for me and Jay.

I get Ross settled onto the sofa with Olivia and we make sure he's had his meds. I turn the flatscreen on low so that they can just sit and watch that if they so choose. I brought the lemon cake with me and I sit down next to Ross with a slice for myself.

She's cautious around him, unsure of what Matty she's going to have to deal with. That's not something I ever experienced with him whilst we were dating, he was always so consistent, reliable and loyal.

I smile up at him, pull myself to standing. Ross following suit and standing just behind me. I hug Matthew, my hands around his shoulders. I feel him breathe in and out at my closeness and I let him go.

I hug Olivia as we say our goodbyes, feeling like I know her so much more than I did yesterday. She smiles and thanks me and Jay in turn for our hospitality. Jay stands back smiling and I wonder what they spoke about in the kitchen. I remind Olivia about the baby shower and she promises to be there.
