Basically, anything goes, so long as it's associated with a mythology or legend of a group of people. Have fun!

Well, we've long past the month of love, but Valentines Day and I still have a score to settle and I'm not satisfied leaving it on a light note.

There's a saying where I'm from that no good love story ends with a marriage. And, granted, I will admit that there are plenty of happy couples out there in this world--unfortunately, happiness is boring. And we wouldn't want to bore our readers, now would we?

Your prompt is to either write:

-A relationship that ends in a tragedy,

-An unhappy relationship with both parties hating each other,

-A relationship that can never be, or as its more often known a forbidden love.

All of these and any other love story ending badly are valid, but let's not start cheating, shall we? No happy endings. This is a practice of cruelty, and no one will be left unscarred. Including the author.

As ya'll know, summer is coming up. Summer is what this contest is about. In this contest, you can do amything! Write a short story, a song, or a poem! You could also submit a drawing or a picture! The only rules are, it has to be about summer, and it must be aproppriate for all ages. Good luck!

Write a short story (1k-2.5k words) about a character, it could be a character you borrowed, created, like, or it could even be you. It could be anyone as long as this character goes through something related to conflictions between needsand wants

Rewrite a story in any genre! I want to hear your version of a story you've grown up hearing or just thought was interesting! It can be a fairytale/folktale, a ballet, a song, or any other type of story you can think of!

Edit: Since I've recieved 4 questions about what is acceptable source material within the last 24 hours, I just want to make it super, extremelyclear that you can write about anything you want. Anything at all. Only rule is that it has to be a retelling of something. Your options are practically limitless. :)
