Noon, Nov. 23rd 2019:
I went to get gas in my family's plum, Honda Pilot (which we named "Big Cherry"), and I went to Albertsons to go see him. At this time, Matt had been moved to the Seafood department, and was slowly being promoted to Seafood Manager.
Matt took his 10 minute break to hang out with me. We were super awkward about it, because well... we've said everything we wanted to over text, but hadn't said it out loud.
We ended up hugging for the first time. It was the warmest hug I've ever had. He smelled so good. I told him that. He laughed and asked what he smelled like. I said he smelled like good. He was confused by that and I tried to elaborate.
The big scary boss walked by, and Matt got a little scared, so he went back to work. The big bosses would probably fire us or we might get in trouble if they knew we were dating. It wasn't like Matt was my boss, but he was at a higher position than I was.
He was a manager and I was just a clerk. Different departments, but same store.
I was so happy that I got to hug him. All this time, I've wanted to. Finally getting to hug him was the best feeling. His hug made me feel like I was always safe with him. His hug gave me warmth and a sense of security.
2:30-2:55pm:
He went on his lunch break, and we went to my car to sit, and talk awkwardly. I began to touch him for the first time. I touched his arm, and then his hand. Progressively, I held his hand. I was happy with his warm hand interlocked with mine. We talked about how I broke up with my ex, and how I was available now...or available for him without cheating.
His time ran out quickly and went back to work. I walked him all the way to the entrance, and I gave him a hug. The cute way that he asked to hang out was that he came up with a story. He asked me if I could give him a ride home. I agreed because I wanted to hang out with him, and talk to him more. I was supposed to meet up with my friend to practice our ASL stories.
Oh, right. I was taking ASL 201. One of the finals was to sign a children's story book in front of the class (while a partner read the book in English).
My friend flaked on me because she was spending time with her parents (which I understand), so I practiced my story alone in my car, and recorded it.
2:57-6:59pm:
I walked into the store for the first time that day. I decided that in order to do better at my job, it would be better if I studied what was in each isle. Being in the Bakery, people were always asking me about candles, cheese, packaged meat, and sun-dried tomatoes. Cookies and gluten-free foods are more things people would ask for.
Instead of taking notes in a notebook or on my phone, I decided to pain a picture of each isle in my head. Isle 8 had all the frozen dinners, the cheese (including cream), and packaged meats.
As I walked by the last 3 isles, I peeked over at the Seafood Department. I saw him dealing with customers and gave him a flirty smile. He smiled back and kept doing his job.
I went up and down the isles for about an hour, studying each isle and where each item was. This day was really good for improving my knowledge of what we had in the store.
I went back to my car to try and sleep. Then, I was hungry. I went back into the store, where they were putting out the hot french bread. I grabbed a loaf, paid for it, and went back to the car to eat it.
I laid in the car for hours, waiting for him to get off work, but it was so worth it.
7:00-8:50pm:
He met me at the car and got in. I warned him that I liked to play my music loud and sing-scream along to it. He was fine with it.
I started to drive him home, and I turned my music down a bit so I could listen to him talk. I drove through his town and he told me to turn left and park in this one area I didn't know existed.
At the end of E Street, there was a small parking lot, overlooking the beach.
He said it was his favorite spot. We both got out of the car and walked on a small trail that lead down to the beach. The sky was clear from clouds, but full of stars. The moon was so bright and we were slightly able to see where we were going.
I was wearing boots on the beach and I kept tripping over seaweed and random sticks, but he helped me walk. We held hands and walked on the beach. It was so romantic. We looked up at the stars and hugged for a long time. I was so happy to be with him there.
We started walking again, but towards the pier. We were one of the few couples out at that time. Even though it was November, there were Christmas lights all around the lampposts, lighting the pier.
We walked slowly, holding hands, and telling each other stories. Bzzz. I felt my phone buzz, and took my phone out to read a text message from my mother. She told me to come home because it was getting late. Eight o'clock is apparently late to her. My father is a night owl, while my mother is an early bird.
I texted her back that I was going to come home later, but not too late. Matt looked at me with a curious look, also worried at the same time. I told him what she said and what I said back.
He stared at me, and I smiled back at him. Besides my mother telling me to come home, everything was perfect. We reached the end of the pier and looked down. He asked me what was going through my head. I told him that I didn't want to fall, and I didn't want him falling either.
He looked at me with a devilish smile, as he started to climb up over the side of the pier. I pulled him down with every bit of strength I had. There was no way in hell I was going to let this amazing guy just jump into the ocean.
He cornered me up against the edge of the pier, and it took me back.
I remembered when I closing in the Bakery. He snuck up on me while I was mopping. He gave me this sexy look as if he was going to pin me up against the wall. That vibe I felt made me back up against the wall. I felt as if I might just kiss him if he got any closer.
Back to the pier. He cornered me. I looked at him as our eyes met. We stared into each other's eyes until he said, "If you want something to happen...make it happen." I leaned in, slowly tilting my head to the left. I closed my eyes as our lips met. It was magic.
I instantly felt this incredibly close and intimate connection with him. This moment, this entire day...just felt right. Everything was perfect. We stayed on the pier for another fifteen minutes, hugging and sharing little pecks.
We got back into my car and drove back to his house (where we switched to his car). We drove to my town and he took me to infamous Rock that our town is known for. We sat in the parking lot, and I kept cuddling with him.
Eventually, we started driving again, and we caught a glimpse of our co-worker, Savion. He was walking on the sidewalk on the left side of the road. We drove past him, noticed it was him and then turned around. We went into the shopping outlet that held AutoZone, Cookie Crock, and a laundromat. We slowly creeped up on him and he turned around and lifted up his headphones.
He recognized us and Matt offered him a ride home. We picked him up, and drove back to Albertsons. Matt bought some energy drinks, while I went upstairs to check my schedule. I saw him with Kaleb at Check stand 1 and I walked over to him. We walked out of the store to Savion, and we drove Sav home.
9:00-9:40pm:
We were back out on the road and I wrapped my arms around his right arm as he drove. We made it back to his house, he gave me a nice hug (and kiss). I looked him in the eyes and told him “I wish this night didn’t have to end.” I started to drive home. It was the nicest day. Even though I waited a little, it was so worth it.
