Some time had past and all the guests began to trickle out of the castle. Dez wandered through the halls, assessing her new home. As she turned the corner she found herself colliding with someone going the opposite direction. She stumbled back and rubbed her nose.
"Ow! Watch where you're going!" She scolded.
She opened her eyes to look up at who it was only to find Sin staring back at her. His expression was anxious to say the least, but his irritated glare was replaced with a playful grin when he realized who he was staring down at.
"I didn't think you'd be so eager that you'd come running into my arms. Feel free to do it again!" He teased as he opened his arms wide and laughed. Dez groaned.
"Ugh you wish!" She spat.
"Yeah I do actually."
A long sigh escaped her ruby lips. "Why are you in such a rush anyways?"
There was a long silence. He stared at her wondering if he should tell her what happened or not. He inevitably decided that he didn't want to talk about it. Instead he smiled.
"I was looking for you!" He sang.
Dez groaned. ".....why?"
"Let's play a game!"
"Uh...no."
"Please! It's my birthday!"
Sin pouted, his gaze boring holes into her skull. She very reluctantly conceded.
"Fine..."
Sin grinned and grabbed her hand. "Come on!"
Sin took her to all the way to a small tavern in the village. It had closed early so that everyone else could go out an enjoy the parade and festival activities. The sun was minutes away from setting and began to cast warm shadows over the village. Sin snuck into the tavern and pulled Dez inside with him.
"I know the owners so don't worry about getting into trouble." He said as he pulled up two stools.
"I'm a pirate. I never worry about getting into trouble." Dez reminded him.
Sin laughed. "I guess your right."
He sat her down and pulled up some alcohol from behind the bar. "First one to get drunk looses."
Dez looked between Sin and the alcohol."What do I get if I win?"
"I'll do whatever you want."
"...I can't exactly think of something right now..."
"That's okay. You can cash it in whenever you want and if I win, you have to have dinner with me."
Dez crossed her arms. "Are you seri—"
Sin cut her off by pushing a glass in her face. "Bottoms up!"
He raised his own glass to his lips and took a drink. He put the glass down, smirking smugly as he looked over at Dez. Dez sighed.
"I could always leave you here to get drunk by yourself." She said.
Sin shrugged. "Go ahead. If the great pirate captain of the Antalyian sea can't handle her alcohol then this wouldn't be much of a competition."
Dez glared at him and grabbed the glass, chugging it's contents. She slammed the glass down and wiped her mouth. "Don't get cocky."
Sin grinned triumphantly and poured them another glass.

Illya had passed through the arch way and walked through the long hallway. Shadows of minor opponents were all scattered throughout the halls. She continued along, cutting them down as she went. She finally made it to the next room. When she entered a sigil appeared, locking her in, just as it did with the first room. The room was almost identical to the last except this one had a couple extra pillars. When the mist that rose from ground made contact with Illya's skin it began to freeze over. Illya flinched and jumped away from it, raising her body heat to melt it off. The room was freezing and the barren ambiance was suffocating. It gave her a sense of complete isolation and helplessness.
Illya was noticeably tense as she walked onto one of the platforms. She didn't know if it was just her paranoia or because of the cold, either way, she wanted to leave as soon as possible. She stood there for a few minutes. However, nothing materialized on the other platform. She sighed and let her shoulders drop, only to feel a pair of arms come around them and wrap around her.
"It's been forever since I last saw you."
A man's voice drifted into her ear, a voice she knew all too well. She immediately tensed up again. Her body was completely stiff, as if it had long since died and was now being consumed by rigor mortis. She tried to speak but she couldn't form any words. She was only able to produce incoherent grunts. Her face was deathly pale and she felt her entire body suddenly writhe in pain. Slowly, she forced her body to move. As she turned, she came face to face with the one person she wished she didn't have to battle.
"I used to hold you like this all the time. Do you remember?" His soft voice sounded like nails on a chalkboard to her.
Memories came flooding back, just as it had with Atanih except this time it was more ferocious and she could feel herself struggling not to drop to her knees and begin profusely vomiting. Her head spun as memories of the worst year of her life threatened to drown her.
For a split second her mind went blank and all she could see was a small barren room. It was cold and had no windows. She was on a worn out mattress and across from her she noticed bars. Just on the other side of it was a large metal door. It was dark and she felt as though she had just woken up. She tried to push herself up and get off the bed, but nothing worked. That's when she looked down and noticed...her arms and legs were...gone?
As soon as she noticed it, the pain sank in. She had been bound in mysterious chains that prevented her from healing herself and was now acutely aware of her surroundings. Panic began to rise in her chest as she fought both the pain and constraints that were stained in her blood. Her attention shifted when the door creaked open to reveal a tall man with dark hair and bloody gloves.
"Oh! you're awake? Fantastic!"
"J-Jinian? W-What's going on? Why are-" Her voice shook in terror as she blinked away the tears that threatened to escape.
He cut her off and entered her little "cell." "Well we wouldn't want you escaping now would we?"
He laughed like it was nothing and within the next few minutes, he was on top of her. Just as he began to take her clothes off, her mind went black again. She shut her eyes tight, when she opened them, she was back in the trial room and still being held by the man she now recognized as Jin. She scowled. Jin was the man that was hired to kidnap her back at the beginning of the continental war. It didn't take much for Illya to realize that he took immense pleasure in it all because she was a self-conscious, lost, a helpless mess that was easy to manipulate.
He held her captive for a year and when he and his friends were done using her, he beat her to the point where she was unrecognizable. It was so bad that anyone who came across her would die of the pure shock of seeing something so unspeakably horrid. She was left for dead in the snow, days after her sixteenth birthday and through a complete miracle, a man who had heard the villagers gossiping about the monster in the mountains, came to investigate. He had committed many atrocious deeds in the past few hundred years and subsequently became accustomed to seeing the worst of the worst gruesome crimes. So her repulsive figure didn't faze him what so ever.
This man would go on to be the one who saved her life, via liquefying a philosopher stone and making it run down her throat. It's power helped to restore her body, but the damage was so incredibly atrocious, that it took a while before she was able to do much of anything. When he first took her in, she couldn't move her body, she wasn't even able to see clearly with the one eye that wasn't as damaged. In a couple months she was able to sit up and could see clearly from one eye. It took some time for her to physically heal.
Battling back the panic that tore at her insides, she turned her torso to face him.
"Get........your...filthy hands.....off....of me." She choked out.
A look of utter surprise graced his face but it soon convulsed in anger. In one swift motion he brought his hand back and slapped her so hard that there was an audible snap.
