when brook a 17 year old jock who has a heart of boldness joins the army against the Vietnamese in the war of Vietnam, but one day ever thing changes into a disaster as the Vietnamese slaughter all of his comrades forcing him to hide in the treacherous forests of Vietnam while trying to hide for the Vietnam soldiers and taking care of a 5 year old boy from a tiny village in Vietnam which turns his heart of boldness into a heart of peace
