Any so-called airship spotter would know that all aeronautical craft powered by æther were subject to the Airship Class System and Ceali Law. All craft, military and civillan, must have an alphanumerical designation comprised of the airship class – Dreadnought (D), Carrier (CV), Escort Carrier (CVE), Heavy Cruiser (CH), Battlecruiser (BC), Light Cruiser (CL), Wraith or Corsair depending on region (WR / CS), Vanguard Striker (VA), Strikers (S, F, or none), Utility airship (U), personal craft (P), Miners (M / XM) and so on – and a number. Variant letters were allowed – Most commonly Experimental (X) or Fleet (F) for test subclasses and larger versions than the norm of that class – but were not often used.
Caeli Law was obeyed in every region except Umbracrest. Operating a craft without a name or regional identification tag for combat vessels would be presumed as a stealth threat, a stolen craft (piracy), and reported / fired upon depending on weapons. The military tags are, from Northeast to Northwest, GNA (Grand Narcissian Airship), ERCA (Eastern Republic Combat Craft), ÆSF / ÆRB (Æther Strike Force / Æther Recon Branch as Aquiloria was an Æther Defence Pact region, it used Southeastern Aeronautical Military before the ÆDP signing in 3 YBP), Same as before (Vorantis was the other ÆDP region but used VAC / Vorantine Aerial Combatant), CRDC (Cerulean Regional Defence Craft because the Southwest believes in non-aggression), Umbracrest never signed Caeli Law and so had no tag even before it fractured into squabbling groups, and the Estrin Dominion uses both EDA (Estrin Dominion Airship) and EDS (Estrin Dominion Ship) for air and water respectively.
