Max had held back for too long. He was tired of always feeling controlled and cornered. Skipping school was his way of reclaiming some freedom, and it felt good to enjoy those moments where he could just do whatever he wanted. "I could just disappear, go somewhere no one knows me," he often thought, but the fear of getting caught always stopped him.

Then the teachers noticed his absence and informed his parents. That pushed him over the edge. There had been a huge argument at home. "Why are you doing this, Max?" his parents asked, the disappointment in their voices unmistakable. "You’re not even doing well in school, and now you're skipping? It’s only going to get worse!"

Max said nothing, but inside, the anger was boiling. The rage swelled, choking him. All he could hear was constant nagging and complaining, and he hated it. "Why should I even try anymore?" he thought as he ignored his parents' words. "Everything's just so damn annoying. Let them all drop dead."

The next day at school, his mood was no better. Walking down the hall, he saw the teacher who had snitched on him. The one who had made that call to his parents, seemingly enjoying making his life miserable. "Max, we need to talk," the teacher said, his voice stern as he approached.

In that moment, something inside Max snapped. The anger that had been building up for weeks suddenly and violently broke free. "What does he want from me now?" Max thought. He had had enough. "Just leave me alone!" Without thinking further, he shoved the teacher hard against the wall.

The impact was loud. The teacher hit the wall and collapsed, motionless. Max stared at the body, his hands trembling. A part of him felt relieved – finally, this man was out of his life. "He deserved it," Max thought, "he kept pushing me." But soon, reality started to set in.

"Oh God, what have I done?" Max thought as he looked down at the lifeless body. He couldn’t believe he had actually killed the teacher. His heart raced as he looked around, trying to see if anyone had witnessed what had just happened. And then he saw him: a boy from the other class, standing at the end of the hallway. He had seen everything.

For a moment, Max froze, unable to react. Panic surged through him. "What if he goes to the police? What if I get caught?" His thoughts were spinning. Without another word, he turned and bolted out of the building.

The next day, the school was locked down. The police were on site, investigating the death. Max felt the chill in the air as he passed by the officers. He did his best to act normal, but inside, his mind was in turmoil. “Stay calm,” he kept telling himself as the questions from the officers echoed down the halls. The uncertainty gnawed at him – had he made a mistake? Was anyone suspicious yet?

During the break, the boy from the other class approached him. Max froze as the boy crept up to him, a sly grin on his face. “I know what you did,” he whispered. “But don’t worry, I won’t say anything… if you pay me.”
Max’s heart raced. Panic surged through his chest, his hands trembling. “How much?” he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
“10 euros a week,” the boy said coldly. “Otherwise, I’ll tell the police. Every last detail, Max.”
Max could hardly breathe. 10 euros. It wasn’t much, but it meant that boy had him under his thumb. Every moment, he could destroy everything. One wrong move, and it would be over. Forever. And the worst part? The boy was enjoying it. Max saw the glint in his eyes – that sick pleasure from having control.
“Deal?” the boy asked, extending his hand, waiting.
Max nodded silently, his world spinning. The nightmare had just begun, and he was trapped, with no way out.
