“Getting comfy.”
“On my bed?”
I rolled my eyes. “Oh please. This sleeping bag isn’t your bed.”
“It is for the nights your here.”
“I don’t get it.”
He sighed and picked me up by the legs then threw me on the bed.
“Now. Go to sleep. We have a big day ahead of us.”
He got on the floor and passed out immediately. I sighed and got out of bed slowly and quietly. This could be my time. I could escape from this place and run to where Forest and Tracey are held then run home. I opened the door slowly and looked around. Only a few lights were on and they were in the kitchen. If I make a run for it, I can make it. I looked left to right then dashed my way to the front door. I opened the door only to realize it was a man with blonde hair sleeping in his bed. My legs started to shake. I shut the door slowly and quietly. I turned around and saw Jee standing behind me with a milk carton in his hands and his eyes were wide.
“Um ...do you know where the front door is?”
He coughed awkwardly and shook his head.
“You live here. Why don’t you know where the front door is?”
“Hey it’s my turn to ask the question. Why were you looking at Jake-hyung sleep?”
I looked back at the door then at Jee.
“I didn’t know it was his room.”
“You’re a freaky lady.” He says taking a sip from the carton of milk and walking away.
I sighed and walked around. I opened another door revealing the man with green hair reading. He looked up from his book and looked at me with his reading glasses reflecting the light off of them..
“Do you need help finding something?” He asks.
“Yeah. Do you know where the front door is?”
“Oh yeah. Here let me show it to you. I know it seems a little confusing.”
He got out of bed and walked towards me then led me downstairs. He opened a door and I walked inside. He turned the lights on and shut the door behind me. I jumped and turned around trying to open the door. But the guy seemed to be holding the handle keeping the door shut.
“LET ME OUT!!!!” I screamed.
“Well well well. Look who just couldn’t keep away from me.”
I turn around and see Eric standing there with blood splattered on his plain white T-shirt.
“Where did that blood come from?”
“Why does it matter? Why aren’t you in bed? In Michael's room.”
The door opened and the man with green hair walked in shutting the door behind him.
“She was trying to find the exit. I heard her and Jee talking in the kitchen. And she interrupted my beautiful book reading. I was in the middle of fifty shades of grey.”
“Thanks TM. you can go now. Tell me how the book is. I’ve got fifty shades darker if you want to read it afterwards.”
TM nodded and left the room.
“What am I going to do with you?” He says sighing.
He grabbed a needle and backed me up into the corner of the room.
“Are you going to drug me more?”
He shrugged. “Kind of.”
He smirked and inserted the needle into my bruise and pressed the liquid into my arm.
“I’m just helping you sleep better.”
My eyes felt heavy and my legs grew weak. I collapsed into Eric's arms and he started to drag me back into Michael’s room. He placed me on his bed and shut the door quietly. My eyes were officially closed. After what felt like a few hours I opened my eyes. I looked around and saw a tube connected to my arm. There was something tan running through it. I sat up and stretched. I took out all the needles that were connected to me. I stood up and headed to the restroom. After I was done with everything I walked out of the room and yawned. I got into the kitchen and grabbed a chair.
“How was your sleep?” Michael asked.
“Good. How long was I asleep for?”
“Til Friday.”
I shrugged. “Well that’s not that bad. Four days isn’t so bad.”
“You slept for eight weeks.”
My jaw dropped. Jee came up to me and shut my mouth then pat my head.
“Don’t let any flies in there.” He giggled and grabbed a carton of milk and drank out of it.
Eric walked in and grabbed a bowl.
“Guys. Yoko is coming over make sure everything is ready for him.”
“Doesn’t Yoko want to break out of the gang?”
“Yep.” Eric says totally ignoring my presence.
He poured a bowl of cereal and grabbed the carton out of Jee’s hands. He poured the milk and handed the milk back to Jee. Jake walked up to me and wrapped his arm around my shoulders.
“UGH enough about work!!” he looked at me and smiled “So since you’ve been asleep for two months allow me to introduce all of us.” He pointed at the green haired dude.
“There’s Thompson also known as TM. just call him TM it’s a lot easier.” As he pointed down the line everyone awkwardly waved.
“We have Jinx or JX, Michael or M, Johan, John, or JJ, there’s Jason or Jee, I’m Jake, and that’s Eric, boss, or Mafia.”
Eric ignored the introduction and continued eating. Michael stood up with a smile.
“Welp. I’m going to be going shopping wanna come with me Alba?!” He asks with the biggest smile plastered on his porcelain face.
“Sure. Sounds like fun.”
“I wanna come too!!” Jee yelled.
“Me too!!” Jinx added.
Michael smiled and we walked to the garage door. Eric walked up to us and turned Jinx around.
“Wait til Yoko gets here. After that then you can go.”
“Ugh fine.” Michael groaned.
We walked back and sat down on the black leather couch waiting patiently. Jee’s face lit up.
“Let’s play Jenga!!!” He yells pulling out the jenga box.
Michael shrugged and we sat around the coffee table setting up the jenga game. Jee was trying to knock it over before anyone else could go. We did Rock Paper Scissors to see who goes first. I started and it went clockwise. So it was Me, Michael, Jinx, Then Jee was last. I pushed the easiest one out and leaned back. The door opened on Jee’s turn. Jee pulled out an easy one and the door slammed causing the jenga to fall on him. Me and Michael both stood up laughing and dancing. Eric coughed to get our attention. We walked up to the others and the red haired beat up man stood there. I leaned in towards Michael.
“Who’s that?” “That’s Yoko. Doesn’t he look bad?”
“Yeah. He does.”
“That’s because he wants to leave the gang. We need to beat him to death.”
“Why?”
“You ask too many questions.” He says with a smile, shaking his head.
Eric walked up to Yoko and folded his arms then stared in his teary eyes.
“Why do you want to leave? You were like my brother.”
Yoko looked down. Then looked up and noticed me standing behind Michael. His eyes went wide and he looked at Eric. Eric looked at me then at Yoko again but a little more angrily. Michael pulled me in closer behind him.
“Really Eric? I thought after the whole Kiana thing you were done with women in your group. Don’t trust her.”
Eric punched Yoko in the face causing him to fall back on the ground. He held his jaw in pain as his lip started to bleed.
“Don’t you EVER speak of her again. She means nothing to me.”
“And there’s your father's side. Your father was always like that, especially with your mom. I remember seeing his face after my father said things about your mom. You look just like him.” Yoko said with a smirk.
Eric lifted his hand and signaled everyone to attack Yoko. I stood there watching everyone beat him to death. Eric turned around and walked away. He stopped and looked at me then looked down again. I looked away and chased after Eric.
“Are you okay?” I ask politely
“Go away.” He says opening the door to his room.
“I just want to help.”
“I said. Go away.” He slammed the door in my face and I turned around with a sigh.
I walked towards the boys who were fighting. I pulled them all off of each other. I held out my hand to Yoko. He grabbed it with a smile. I helped him up and he turned around, pulling a knife up to my neck. All the boys pulled their guns out pointing them at Yoko. He put the knife down and so did the boys. Yoko pulled out a gun and held it against my head. The boys held their guns up aiming at Yoko again. I heard a gunshot and closed my eyes. I felt the grip on me disappear. The gun was now on the floor. I looked up and saw all the boys signaling me to run over to them. I grabbed the gun and ran to the boys hiding behind Jinx and Michael. I looked at the side of the room and noticed Eric with smoke coming out of his gun.
“Don’t move you little bulldog!!!” Eric yelled keeping the gun on point.
Yoko ran towards him limping. He put his blood in some of Eric's hair as he tried pulling it out. Eric pushed him away and pulled out his knife. They started to circle each other.
“Boys go upstairs. Take Alba with you. Don’t come back down until I say it’s okay.” Jinx and John grabbed my wrist pulling me up the stairs. We sat in a room and waited silently as we heard the screams and groans of the guys downstairs. I felt guilt overtake my body. I wrapped my arms around my body and started to cry silently. Michael noticed and ran up to me and wrapped his arm around my shoulder.
“What’s wrong?”
“It’s all my fault. I shouldn’t have broke the fight up. Now you guys are having bigger problems.”
Michael scoffed and laughed. “Look. I know something that’ll get you over this.”
Jinx looked at us and smirked. “Are you guys gonna go WBing?”
“Yeah.”
“Cool.”
The door opened and Eric walked in with cuts on his arms and chest.
“You’re safe.”
We all ran out of the room and looked down the railing. We saw Yoko laying there in a pool of blood and his head was smashed in. I could see the bones of his face and everything around it was just blood and bones. his eyes were missing. They probably sunk in the blood.
“Hey ...Eric...where are his eyes?” I ask.
“That’s boss to you. And they’re right here.” He pulls out two small circular eyes.
I felt my heart race. Jee walked in and looked down the railing. He covered his mouth and looked around. He threw up over the railing which hit the corpse of Yoko.
“Jake. Go clean it up. Your the best at that.” Eric walked away and Jake walked down the stairs with a plastic garbage bag.
“Alba come with me. I want to show you something.” Michael says with a smile.
We ran a few miles and when we got to the location we needed to go it was already dark. Michael smirked and we walked into the busiest part of the building. We went into the food aisle. Michael grabbed the chips and stuffed them in his duffel bag. He grabbed pickles and placed them in the duffel bag as well. We grabbed as much food as we could. We walked out and got to the parking lot. Michael pulled out a sledgehammer that had some blood in it.
“We need to get you used to the feeling of being bad. Take this and break three car windows. Then let’s Hotwire a good looking car.” He looked around and spotted the same one I spotted. It was a cherry red mustang ford convertible. He looked at me and smirked.
“That one.”
I gulped and ran to the small cars. I whacked all the windows with the sledgehammer. Windshield and everything. We ran to the mustang and Michael pulled out a hanger from his jacket. We unlocked it and Michael hot wired it which got it started.
“HEY!!!” We looked back and noticed a man rushing towards us. Michael opened his duffel bag and pulled out a metal bat.
“Wait here” He walked up to the man and whacked him in the face making him collapse to the ground.
He rushed to the car and signaled me to go.
I started to pull out. And we drove home. I got to the garage and parked the mustang where there was an opening. We walked in to the house laughing. Eric stood there tapping his foot. I walked past him and listened in on the conversation.
“Michael. Did you take my sledgehammer?”
“Just for a little bit.”
“I don’t care. You and her can’t be acting like this. We’re not having another kiana.”
“Oh please Kiana never did that. She was always into killing people. You taught her everything even when you weren’t she always spent time with you. You guys were inseparable.”
“I thought I was in love. Don’t go blaming me for it.”
I felt someone tap on my shoulder. I turned around and saw Jee standing there curiously. “What are you doing?”
“Nothing.”
“Sure.”
I sighed and Jee grabbed my wrist pulling me towards a door.
“Forest wants to see you.” He says smiling.
We walked to the secured building and Jee opened the door to where I shot the men. I looked over the small cliff and saw there were three guys in there sleeping and not a speck of blood was seen. I looked over at Jee who was obviously flirting with Forest. I grabbed the bow and arrow then pointed the arrow at one of the men. I shook my head and put the bow and arrow down. I walked over to Jee and Forest. They had their hands on the glass and their foreheads were on the glass as well.
“What are you doing?” I say smiling.
Jee looked up at me and smiled. “This is the most I can feel her. I don’t have the key. If I had it my way she wouldn’t be here. She’d be home. Sleeping in her own bed.”
He put his head down. “I don’t like seeing her locked up in a cage. She's the first woman I’ve ever fallen in love with. And she’s in a cage.”
Forest looked at me and smiled.
“How many times do you come here?” I ask looking at Forest.
“Everyday. When we met you I fell in love the second I set eyes on her. I followed her and caught the man before he could do anything to them. That’s my job. But I did it for myself because I wanted to.”
Jee kissed the glass and so did Forest. An idea popped into my head. I smiled and looked at Jee.
“Who has the key?”
“Who do you think?”
“Let’s go. I’m gonna try and get the key.” I say pulling Jee away.
We got out and started to walk.
“So. What’s your plan?”
“You’re going to distract him as I go in his room and look around. Take him out somewhere or something.”
“Okay. How am I going to know when you’re done and you have the key to the cage?”
“Just come home in a few hours. Take three to four hours.”
He nodded and opened the door. We walked inside and Eric was standing there looking at us.
“You know. You can just ask for the key right?” He held up the key and Jee looked at the key shocked.
Jee walked up to him and grabbed the key slowly. He looked down at the key and then up at Eric.
“How did you know?”
“We have mics outside the house. I’m not dumb you know.”
He looked down and walked away. stood there looking at me. He turned around and walked away. I ignored it and walked up the stairs to Michael’s room. I opened the door seeing Michael walking out of the bathroom with a towel around his neck and a toothbrush in his mouth. I walked to the bed and laid down on it letting out a big sigh. The room was silent all I could hear was Michael brushing his teeth and walking around. I heard Michael spit and rinse off his toothbrush. He was still silent. He turned the light off and got in his sleeping bag.
“Michael?”
“Yes.”
“ can you tell me about Kiana?”
He was silent. I sighed and laid on my side.
“She was the first girl to join the gang. She was kind of like you but would kill people for fun. Eric and her fell in love. She was betraying him and one day she shot him with an arrow on his side. He shot her back and she left our group to go lead west sides groups.”
“Is that why Eric is so…”
“Cold towards you? Yes. He doesn’t want you to turn into that. He doesn’t want to fall in love and be betrayed again. But he’s still protective because now you are officially part of the gang. Just wait it out he’ll get used to you.”
“So What are your roles. I know Eric is the boss. But what is everyone else.”
Michael sighed and got on the bed sitting there getting comfortable.
“You really are curious aren’t you?” He says laughing.
“I just want information that way I’m not so confused.”
He groaned and giggled slightly.
“Okay okay. Eric is leader, I’m the sidekick, John is the bullseye, Thompson is the brains, Jinx is the strongest and the youngest, Jake is the cook and cleaner, Jee is the child who feeds the prisoners and keeps everyone company and chooses the next prisoners. There now go to bed.”
He got off the bed and laid back down on the sleeping bag.
“Why does Eric hate his father so much?”
“UGH PLEASE GO TO SLEEP!!!” Michael yells from the bottom of the bed.
I sighed and laid there not feeling sleepy at all. The door opened slowly and I looked to see who it was. It was Jee. He locked eyes with me and signaled me to go with him. I looked over the bed and saw Michael was passed out. I smiled and got off the bed running to the door to follow Jee. We went to the building Forest and Tracey were held. Jee walked to the locked door and hesitated.
“What is it?” I ask putting my hand on his shoulder. I could feel him shaking.
“I’m so nervous.”
“Don’t be. Just open the door and she’ll come out to you.”
He took a deep breath and opened the door slowly. He looked in and Forest’s face lit up. She ran to him and hugged him tightly. I smiled at the sight of the two, who have never felt each other’s touch, hugging for the first time. Forest kissed Jee passionately. I smiled and Forest looked over at me and smiled. She hugged me and I hugged her back.
“Let’s go home.” She says smiling.
Tracey came out and Jee smiled at her. She held up her hand to his face.
“I have a boyfriend. Who is probably worried sick about me. Poor boy he hasn’t slept for two months. TAKE ME HOME!!!”
Jee looked at Forest. “Do you want to go home?”
“Yeah.”
Jee smiled and grabbed her hand walking to the nearest car. He pulled out a hanger and hijacked the car. Forest sat in the front still holding Jee’s hand. He smiled and keys fell out of the visor.
“Wait did you just hijack this car?” Forest asks.
“Yes. He did. He’s such a little bastard.”
Jee slammed his hands on the steering wheel. “Can you not swear?!?! Seriously. Who taught you those words. When we get you home you better wash your mouth out with soap or eat a whole bottle of Tabasco.”
He pulled out of the parking lot and started to drive. Tracey kept on swearing up a storm. I could tell Jee was getting mad. We stopped at a red light and Jee opened the glove compartment and pulled out a bottle of fiery hot Tabasco.
“Alba can you please force her to drink this?”
“No way am I doing that to my cousin.”
He sighed and parked the car.
“Alba take us to their place. So I can keep Tracey company.”
Me and Jee switched spots and when I looked back I saw Jee putting the hot sauce in Tracey’s mouth. We stopped and I got to the girls house. Forest got out with Jee and hugged him tightly. They started to talk to each other more. I sighed and Tracey was already in the house. I got out of the car and headed to my house by foot. The black bullet bike pulled up beside me.
“Get on the bike.” Eric said harshly.
“Go away.” I kept walking ignoring Eric.
He pulled up closer. “ I said, get on the bike. I wasn't asking.”
I kept walking and he ran over to me and handcuffed my hands around his waist.
“Now. Get on the bike.”
I sat down on the bike behind Eric and we were headed further away from the house. We parked at a small park and I noticed someone familiar standing in a group with a couple of guys. I squinted my eyes as Eric Uncuffed my hands. We walked up to the group and I realized it was the bartender from the club.
“Doozy!!” I yelled
He looked at me shocked then looked down at the poor old homeless man on the ground. I walked towards the man on the ground and held out my hand. The man smirked at me and licked my hand slowly. Eric kneed the man in the face causing him to fall back.
“Don’t touch her you sicko.” Doozy says grabbing the man by the beard.
Eric pulled me behind him and held me there as he started to threaten the old man. After quite some time Jee showed up and Eric gave him the handcuffs. Eric nodded at him and gave Jee the handcuffs. He walked over to the homeless guy handcuffing him.
“Thanks for capturing this man you guys.” Eric says gratefully.
He turned around to look at me and I turned around. He grabbed me by the hair and pulled me towards the bike.
“Get on. We need you to come home. We’re going shopping tomorrow. Without. Michael.”
I huffed and sat on the bike. Eric and I were on our way home. We were both as silent as we could imagine. All I could hear was the sound of the wind and when we stopped I heard crickets. Once we got home I ran in the house scared to death about what Eric would do to me. I screamed as I ran into Michaels room. He stood up immediately breathing heavily.
“Is everything okay? Who’s here?” Michael asks as I felt the door handle jiggle.
“It...it’s Eric he’s gonna hurt me!” I yell keeping the door handle still.
The jiggling stopped. I looked down and saw that he left. I exhaled slowly I turned around and walked towards Michael. The door swung open and I looked back seeing Eric rushing towards me. He grabbed me by the hair and started to pull me out of the room. Michael held on to me as I screamed in pain as I could feel the hair on my head getting pulled off.
“Eric!!! Let go of her!!!!!” Michael yelled.
Jake, Jinx, and John ran in pulling him away from me. Michael pulled me close holding me tight in a hug. Jinx and John stood in front of us. Michael started to pet my head as I cried in pain. Eric pushed Jake into the wall and he fell to the ground.
“WHY DO YOU GUYS SUPPORT HER?!?! she’s just going to betray us. Just like Kiana. You guys are so blind. She’s just like every other woman. Ever wonder why we never have females in our gang?” Eric says angrily.
Thompson walked in and cleared his throat. “Your mom was a part of the gang, kasidy, Marla, Maria, chelease, Mimi, should I continue?”
Eric furrowed his eyebrows. He walked out and slammed the door. Jake was still on the ground struggling to get up. I walked over to him and held out my hand. He grabbed it standing up slowly. He collapsed on the bed and cried. I looked back at Thompson and he walked over to Jake and touched his leg. Jake screamed in pain.
“His leg is swollen.”
“Can we take him to the doctor?”
“NO!!” They all yelled.
“If we went to the doctor they’d turn us in.” Michael says sitting on the bed next to Jake.
Thompson pointed at jinx. “Call Cobra. Tell him it’s an emergency.” Jinx stepped out of the room and I looked at Michael.
“Who’s cobra?” I ask.
Michael sighed. “He’s the east sides doctor. But whatever you do don’t look at his scars.”
The door opened and Jinx Walks in with a man in a blood stained lab coat wearing a mask. I felt my heart beat faster than ever. The man scared me. The man had a scar that took over half his face. His eye was completely gray. He turned his head to look at me. He furrowed his eyebrows and pulled out a knife. Michael stood in front of me.
“Have anything to say about me?!”
I shook my head nervously. “N-no sir.”
He nodded. “Good.”
Michael and I walked out of the room as cobra and the others stood in there surrounding them.
“Why is Eric so evil?” I ask.
He giggled and was about to speak but something caught his eye. He turned his head and stared. I looked forward and noticed Eric standing there looking at us angrily. Michael looked down and bowed.
“I’m sorry sir.”
“Get in that room.”
Me and Michael turned around.
“Not you Alba. We need to talk.” Eric says harshly.
I stood there and Michael turned around. Michael held onto me tightly.
“Don’t hurt her.”
“I said go back into the room. And you know how impatient I get. So go back in there. And shut the door.” Eric says pointing in the room.
Michael walked in the room and shut the door behind him. I sighed then looked back up at Eric.
“Eric...I-“
“Save it. Come with me.”
He walked away to the front door. He stood there holding the door open as he put on a jacket. I walked up to the door and was about to walk through the door but he put his hand around my neck choking me.
“I hope you’re not expecting me to give you my jacket are you?”
I shook my head. He smirked and let out a sarcastic laugh.
“Good. Let’s get going.” He walked past me pushing me out of the way by his shoulders.
As we were walking I noticed the sun coming up. Each step I took I kept my eyes on the sunrise. All the beautiful colors were filling up the sky. Oranges, reds, purples, pinks, etc. it was gorgeous. I bumped into Eric and kept my eyes on the sunrise. I felt his presence leave but my eyes were still focused on the mountains in front of the sun blocking out any of the bright lights. I never knew being kidnapped by horrible people would make me realize what I’ve been missing out on. I felt hands pull me away from the beautiful view. After a small amount of running we got into an old, dusty, humid warehouse. I looked around and there were no lights except for the small cracks of sunlight soaking in through the broken windows and rusty old metal. Yoongi brought me up some stairs and stopped me at a railing. My thoughts were going crazy. Is he going to push me off? Is he going to stab me in the dark up here? Is he going to rape me then chop off my head? Is he going to shoot me? As I couldn’t focus on what was going on around me I finally noticed I was on the ground staring at three innocent men strapped to chairs crying with the sunlight only on them. They had cloth covering their mouths stuck onto their faces by duct tape and their heads were tilted back. I looked at Eric and saw him holding a knife and a knife sharpener.
“Since you’re so curious, you only have three questions to ask. Once those three questions are up no more questions. But...if you ask more than three, let’s say four questions, if you ask four questions one of these guys will have their throats slit open.and let me tell you their wives wouldn’t be happy if they found out their husbands were dead. Especially when all three of them have a child on the way.” He says grazing his hand over the men’s heads.
I took in a deep breath.
“Why are you so evil?” I ask.
“I'm not.” He says spacing
“Yes you are. You treat me like crap.”
“Because I don’t trust you.”
“Why not?”
“Because of what happened with kiana!!”
“Are you sure it’s what happened with kiana or with what happened with your dad?”
“No more questions.” He took the knife and ran it across the three men’s throats slicing them open in one stroke.
I dropped to the floor and started to bawl my eyes out. I couldn’t believe what I just saw. As the blood found its way to my hands I picked up my hands slowly examining the blood. This man had no heart.
“What if someone did that to you and you had a family back home?”
He ran over to me and pushed me down to the ground. He held the knife against my throat and whispered in my ear.
“That will never happen. Because no one will ever love me. Now shut up before i have to slit open your mouth to make you shut up.”
“Well, well, Well, isn’t this a pretty sight to see.” A woman's voice says from the shadows.
Eric looked up and stood up immediately pulling me up with him. He pulled me behind him and kept looking around. The woman’s voice grew closer and closer as we turned around looking for the woman. She laughed and it echoed through the warehouse making me feel crazy and have a massive headache. A woman appeared out of the shadows and started clapping slowly. Her face was covered by her jacket and a small mask.
“Wow. This scene feels really familiar. Except it involved me, doing the killing but you know it’s a good start. Bravo bravo. So little lady. What’s your plan for betraying him? Shooting him?”
Eric covered me and backed away from her. I was officially scared of this woman. More than I was of Eric.
She gasped. “Oh! Were you not planning on betraying him? Well let me tell you something…” she took off her mask and lowered her jacket to reveal a mechanic jaw and skin about to overlap the metal. “See that? That’s what this man did. He shot me. I’m lucky I’m still alive.”
Eric stepped back even more.
“Only because you shot me first. It was my own defense.”
“He’s going to kill you. Just like how his father killed his mother.”
“I am not like my father. Stop filling her head with lies.”
“Why do you think I left? Have you noticed there aren’t any females in his gang?”
“Kiana. That’s enough.”
“Is it?”
I stepped back and so did Eric we were now up against the bleeding out corpses of the three men.
“When were you going to tell her that your gang doesn’t accept females and when they did they were only used for sexual pleasure. Then when one was seen standing up to them, they’d die?”
My eyes went wide.
