Once we exited the city, we flew alongside Rabae high in the sky, where we saw many different mystical creatures in the distances. Sometimes, we'd fly right by a baby phoenix or abnormally large butterflies, depending on the area we were in.
We never got close to any other major cities within Pneuma City. We'd enter different districts at high speeds, but that's about all we did since Rabae informed us that getting too close to any of the main populaces would require us to land for that city's flight laws.
Overall, from what I could tell, Pneuma City was massive. It was less of a city and more of a country, with each district being the size of a state. The only way to see multiple districts at once was to fly so high that we were almost out of the atmosphere. Considering the speeds we were flying at, a district was hundreds of miles wide.
Rabae carried a map of Pneuma City with him and would point to the district we were in as we flew over them, but we weren't able to really take in the scenery as much as I'd liked.
"It is a good thing you all are capable of energy-propulsion flight," Rabae spoke light heartedly. "It makes traveling less of a nuisance. Most aren't as fortunate. Even those with wings fly significantly slower, whilst we can cross the entirety of Pneuma City in minutes."
"That is pretty convenient," I said in agreement when suddenly, I noticed something flying toward us.
"What is that?" Za'Fia said, squinting.
"Whatever it is, it isn't stopping," Tymon said as we all tensed up.
"Maybe it's just me, but I swear it looks kinda like a ghost...," I said as the entity suddenly phased through me.
When we each turned and directed our attention at the odd being still flying, ready to fight, Rabae appeared in front of the entity's path.
"Do not worry," he said, raising a hand, "this is one of the klevonians from my Crest."
The klevonian stopped when it saw Rabae before it.
"Oh, Crud, I'm so sorry, sir. I didn't mean..."
"All is well. Turn around and apologize to the people you just flew through," Rabae instructed.
When the klevonians and Rabae came closer, the klevonian properly apologized for being rude.
"This is Hantu," Rabae said, introducing us. Hantu didn't have a physical body, but he looked like the frail, nerd type. He just lacked the glasses...and clothes now that I noticed. His lower half was swiggly energy, so I guess there was no indecency in it. "Hantu possesses the eutierric Phantom cintracy that allows him to use astral projection on himself and others. He died long ago, but the cintracy saved his life by preserving his spirit. Now he lives as a ghost, but a happy one."
"It's a bit different from the other eutierric cintracies, but it's pretty unique still. I'm the only cindarian I've met with this element," Hantu proclaimed proudly as he demonstrated his power by touching us.
In the next instant, I was floating higher. I felt weird. Lighter. When I looked down, I could see my body below me. On either side of me were the others experiencing the same thing. I was a mass of turquoise energy, Avarice was the same, but gold, Tymon was dark energy, Michael was whiteish-yellow, and Za'Fia was orange-red. We all were spirits floating above our empty bodies that lay above water summoned by Rabae.
"Whoa," I said, a little weirded out but still excited.
"This is unnerving," Michael said as he spun in place.
"See," Hantu said, smiling. "It's not very useful in battle, and with my power, it's completely useless against pneumarians, but it's still unique nonetheless. Here, let me put you all back."
We could see his face tighten with concentration as he tried to lower us back into our bodies. We could literally feel the tension increase around us like a coiled spring.
"He's losing his grip," Tymon stated.
"Hey, kid, relax a little before something...," Avarice began just as we felt his grip break and we were flung back toward our bodies.
Unfortunately, our trajectories were off, and we accidentally entered the wrong bodies.
"Didn't expect this..." Michael's body stood. Judging from the tone of his voice, it was Tymon inside it.
"I can't say I'm thrilled about this either," Michael spoke from Tymon's body as he looked down at himself.
"Oh, God," Za'Fia exclaimed from Avarice's body.
"Don't overact. I'm sure this is only temporary," Avarice said from my body.
"No! Get him out of my body!" I yelled at Hantu from Za'Fia's body. I could feel my temper increase as I glared at the klevonian. "Now!" I snapped.
"S-Sorry! I'm so sorry," Hantu said, cowering away.
Rabae's voice boomed as he laughed at the situation.
"It happened again! Hantu, I thought you have been training since last time," he said to the klevonian.
"I have, sir; it's just difficult controlling souls once they leave their bodies. It takes a great deal of willpower just to resist Soulstrom's pull," Hantu replied.
"Ah, I can understand that," Rabae said calmly, looking up at the blue moon in the morning sky.
"This body feels lighter than mine..." Tymon said aloud. "And I can sense the strong life force from each of you and the city in the distance. It's almost overwhelming."
"I can't say the same for your body," Michael retorted gloomily. "I can feel the weight of every death that's occurred recently. I find it...depressing."
"Are you okay?" Avarice asked, placing a concerned hand on Michael's (or, I suppose, Tymon's) shoulder.
We looked at him, stunned.
He suddenly realized what he was doing and retracted his (my) hand.
"Why do I suddenly feel like helping everyone however I can?" He looked at me. "Is this what being the Primordial of Unity is like? It's sickening."
We looked over at Za'Fia, who was looking down at a distant city on the horizon.
"This world's opportunities are incredible," she exhaled in a shaky voice. We could almost see the thoughts and ideas churning behind her eyes. "I can almost feel the value of the minerals here. If I can bring some of these resources back to Earth..."
My attention was abruptly switched when I randomly noticed Avarice putting my hair in a ponytail.
"This hair is insufferable," he muttered.
It had gotten longer since our battle last year. I also noticed that I could see some of my cleavage now. Where was the scarf that was around my neck?
"What do you think you're doing?" I snapped, instinctively using telekinesis on him.
