"Never Going to Be Like a God"

Never going to be like a God.

Life feels hollow,

A pain I can’t find, a pain I never had.

Laughing in the sunshine,

Yet shadows linger in my mind.

Goodbye to tomorrow,

As I confront my empty life—

Laughing in the sunshine.

The hourglass shatters on the cliff face,

Burying the town below,

Statues of memories crumble at the feet of time.

Roses will cover the raids we commanded,

But nothing to be sorry for,

For there is nothing left .

No one to apologize to; they are all gone,

Can’t feel anything,

Don’t know anything—

Laughing in the sunshine.

I’ll never be like a God,

A life so hollow,

A pain I always had, a pain I never had.

A life without me is a life well spent,

Just a waste,

A fleeting echo in the vastness of my mistakes

No time to remember,

Just the fading light of goodbye.
