Clothes were piled high on her bed, covering her desk, even getting atop her closet, somehow. Elise was bent over, frantically searching through her drawers, her fingers trembling, her heart racing, and her breath short. She was looking for something, anything, but it was nowhere to be found...

He stepped back with a smug smirk, a small crowd laughing in the background, though not as loud as before "Crowd's feeling a bit sloppy today..." He grumbled quietly before Elise groaned, catching his attention. "You're literally the company, that doesn't make sens-" Elise was cut off as he suddenly placed his index finger right on her lips those soft, warm lips against his finger "Boop" He snickered but even with his snicker, it felt electrifying, sending a jolt through her before he quickly pulled away. Elise was frozen, her eyes wide with shock, but her whole body felt like it had just been hit by a shockwave. "Cheer up! The whole world is your oyster, you can eat it or make sense of it!" He stuck his tongue out and laid on the bed. Elise shook her head, trying to pull herself out of his trance "Hey! Damn it that's my bed, you're just gonna mess it up!" Elise grabbed onto his arms, trying to pull him away but her grip was soft, as if she just wanted him to stay there, she grunted but simply sat on the edge of the bed, not even making an effort to pull him away and it wasn't like he didn't catch on "It is true, misery does love company but I guess it's because I make you more miserable" he snickered before crossing his legs on Elise's bed, he could feel a stack of shirts underneath him and even some.. weird liquid? He shuddered and quickly sat up, his smug persona slipping "Geez lady! You better get this cleaned up or else your room might become the new neighborhood's dumpster!" A loud crowd laughs with whistles before dying down, He was back in his old spirits with a smirk

Elise let go of him, shoulders slumping. The energy in the room shifted like the world itself was leaning into Elise's emotions,. The lights dimmed, a soft piano melody crept in, and the sound of raindrops could be heard despite the clear skies. "I can't believe it... it's gone, it was all I had of h-" He immediately jumped up, cutting her emotional moment short as he beamed up with a wide smile "Don't you give up! We're gonna find that thing no matter what!" Elise frowned as her moment was cut short, she groaned and rolled her eyes, but she couldn't deny some help, even if it was with an annoying ass; she rubbed her forehead, groaning. Was she really going along with this? "Fine, you can help me out, just don't cause any trouble!" Elise huffs while he lets out a joyous cheer

Elise walks out of her apartment with him happily skipping along her side, it was yin yang "Soooo.. what exactly are we looking for?" He asked curiously, no jokes or teasing, just a real question. "My phone, I lost it, and I couldn't find it anywhere no matter how much I looked, you know how precious it is to me like.." As Elise kept rambling, his mind began to wander to a few random things 'If the floor was made out of wood, what is wood made of? Atoms? But everything is made out of atoms..' He thought before he was suddenly brought back to reality with Elsie lightly punching his shoulder "You aren't even listening!" She berated with a few soft punches thrown at him, it wasn't like she was doing it on purpose, she was just.. weak "Aw come on, I was just thinking about Uhm.." He trailed off, trying to think of an excuse to save himself, but right before he could respond, Elise immediately spoke up, "Wait! I think... I think I remember leaving it somewhere in the park, I swear it's there!" Elise held onto his wrist with an unyielding grip, she dashed to the path, dragging him behind her "Woah woah! Let this cowboy giddy up!" He yelped as he stumbled and tripped over the sidewalk tiles but Elise kept dashing away before making it the park, she halted and panted, out of breath as she let go of him and rested her hands on her knees while he just collapsed onto the ground "Oh gosh.." Elise stood over him, casting a shadow over him "Come on, you wanted to help so hurry" She commanded before entering the lush green park, there was a running fountain in the middle but she couldn't focus on the beauty of the park just yet

She began to frantically search through every bush, under the benches, and even the fountain but, alas, found nothing again till she had a crazy idea. She stood over the fountain before slowly bending over; she let out a shaky breath . "This is stupid... but what if...?" She muttered to herself, her impulse taking over as she immediately dunk her head in; her eyes were wide open as she tried to see sight of her phone. He had been playing the part of the annoying, overbearing clown all day but something in him twitched when Elise suddenly dunked her head into the fountain. For a moment, he thought she was joking, pulling some kind of weird stunt, but then she stayed under just a second too long, his stomach churned and he could feel his heart drop “Elise!” He launched himself forward, grabbing her shoulders and yanking her out of the water. She gasped, coughing violently, her wet hair draping over her face as she fell to the ground "Ah crap!" Elise cleared her throat, spitting water onto the ground, but before she could even process what just happened, He grabbed her arms and shook her—not playfully, not teasingly, it was tight and unbearing. "Are you crazy!?" He raised his voice, spit flying out of his mouth as his voice cracked "How could you be so stupid to even- I can't believe you would even!" He trailed off, running his hands through his hair as he let out a shaky sigh

Elise looked up at him, utterly stunned, she didn't see a glimmer of joy or playfulness in his eyes, he was dead serious “That was so unbelievably stupid” he groaned “You’re—” He suddenly stopped, biting his tongue, he looked down at Elise, staring into her wide eyes and seeing his own reflection in them, his stomach churned against and he gripped it, hugging himself "Don't do that ever again" Elise just stared at him before standing up, her hair still dripping wet as she slowly stepped forward, her hand reaching out to him "Are you.." Before she could finish, He let out a loud laugh, but it was exaggerated, fake. He clapped his hands together. "Whoo! Okay, that was one hell of a show, folks! Tune in next time when Elise wrestles a bear for her missing sock!" The crowd roared with laughter, but it wasn’t the same, his voice was too high, too forced and there was even a slight crack to it. He was already turning away, already going back to his old persona, a clown that can never truly cry or frown

Elise stayed quiet before realizing that they were walking out of the park "So.. this search was a bust, maybe we can look for it tomorrow you know.." She shrugged but it was obvious that she was feeling uncomfortable, disturbed even. He chuckled and patted Elise's back "There's always tomorrow!" He hummed, draping his arm around Elise's shoulder "Besides, we don't want you repeating such a.. stunt, right?" He stared at her with a wide, unsettling grin, a smile too big, one showing off rows of teeth as it almost reached his eyes before pulling back "Let's get going now, shall we?" He began to happily skip away with Elise walking behind, falling behind 'What the hell..' She thought to herself, she had never seen him like that, so.. angry and irritated, but It's not like they'd been friends for a long time; you could barely call them friends. Elise shrugged and shook her head "Whatever, just let this weird day end.." She sighed and walked out of frame, the screen no longer following her as it darted up to the sunny skies turning gloomy and grey, a text fading in..
