The universe, like a cosmic seesaw, has to stay balanced. That meant the Black Moon events had to run their course, just as they did last time. Even though Sailor Moon's glimmering Silver Crystal, a magnet for all evil, could bring about terrifying fears and deep-seated hatreds, it was worth the risk.
Galaxia and the others had disappeared into the golden stream of light, the fountainhead of rebirth. And just like that, the guardians, once destroyed by Chaos through Galaxia, began to reappear, stronger and more resilient than before. Their stars had supported Eternal Sailor Moon in the end, uniting them all. Every soldier's starseed of the Galaxy had shone as one, and now, Earth had enjoyed five years of peace.
Sure, the odd demon would pop up, and the Sailor Senshi would swoop in to protect their respective areas. This became crucial as they went their separate ways and navigated life in the world. They were aware that as Usagi neared 23, darkness would once again descend. A calamity that would thrust the world into the Ice Age, eventually thawing into the 30th Century Crystal Tokyo.
Setsuna stayed in Tokyo with Small Lady and Hotaru-Chan, the youngest Senshi. They would be in school the longest. Some might wonder why a child genius like Hotaru needs elementary school. The reason is simple - social skills. She could be as introverted as she liked, but without interaction skills, how could she return to her home Castle and restore her people?
The same was true for Small Lady. She was two years behind Hotaru Chan in school, but their friendship was unbreakable. They were stronger together than apart. At this point, Chibi-Usa was 16 in her trainee form, and her tiny form was just forming in her mother, Chiba Usagi's womb.
Mizuno Ami went abroad to study. Unlike Mamoru, who spent two years in America and gained an honorary degree in pediatrics, Ami went to Britain to learn from the Medical professionals and Eastern Medicine. She aimed to combine holistic healing with western and modern approaches. The problem was, this wasn't the goal of big Pharma. If people were healed, they lost business. This did not sit well with Ami.
Rei took over Hikawa Shrine after Grandfather’s death. It wasn't unexpected, and was more of a relief. Rei studied at the local university annex for several hours a day and spent most of her time at the Shrine. It was harder and lonelier now that grandfather was gone. Her father briefly visited when he passed, but as always, it was bittersweet. She was 19 then, a full-time student. She didn't need him anymore, just his money.
Makoto married after Usagi and Mamoru, a nice gentleman she met at University where she studied culinary arts. She excelled in her classes and opened up her cake shop.
Minako finally redeemed herself as an Idol. Something she hadn't been since London when her parents were still together. She modeled the work ethic of the Three Lights; they had given everything to their singing to find their princess. If she treated her singing as if it were saving and protecting Serenity, there was nothing she couldn't do.
Haruka and Michiru continued to travel the world during the summers between grades of HighSchool, always watching their younger senshi to ensure they were safe. Since the events of Chaos and Galaxia, they realized how fragile life was. Now, they had to be there for each other, and they had to be ever watchful. Once the Inner Senshi and them all graduated from highschool, the Outer Senshi all focused on raising Hotaru and following their mundane dreams, while Hotaru and Chibi-Usa trained in physical combat with Haruka, something the others had never really done.
To round out the most active Sailors were the Sailor Quartette. They had formed up during the battle with Galaxia and returned to the past with Small Lady to further their own training and hers as well. They posed as teenagers who just graduated high school and owned a small makeup and beauty shop. It was the perfect cover.
All the Senshi new and old, far and near though watchful had fallen into a routine. Despite their best efforts not to take things like peace and the sanctity of life for granted, they again were about to face the pain of loss. One of their own was going to be destroyed and destiny, as well as the future, would be forever altered. Everything and everyone would have a new reality to adapt to, and this meant many things from the past and future would not be the same. It would create a rippling Mandela effect. The changes could be insignificant to absolutely major.
