I spent the day with my flamingos. I did not want to leave. I seriously considered telling Mom and Dad to just leave me here. Hey, I’m turning 8 this year. I can take care of myself. Or can I?
The day we left, I decided to give the flamingos what they gave me; shrimp. I fished through the water early in the morning, the sunrise beautifully reflected off the shallow, wonderous place I called Aruba Flamingo Kingdom. I ended up getting handfuls of shrimp and gave it to the flamingos. Of course, I attempted to grab some koi fish for Gabbi. Why are koi fish so wiggly? I ended up calling Gabbi over to help. Gabbi was an expert! Mom called me to the hotel. She packed up my things for me. I was glad, I am terrible at packing, as you already know. We left for the airport two hours later. I felt like crying, but I stayed strong. My flamingos are happy, so I’m happy. I ensured they are safe. It was an adventure, and I’ll return to Aruba one day. When I finally returned home, I let Haylynn unpack my suitcase while I napped on my bed. I got really bad jet lag. Haylynn on the other hand is a night owl, neither flight bothered her. I slept the day away, and was peppy and energetic the next day.
I wore the flamingo necklace all the time. Haylynn, Van and I visited Franny and told her everything. She is so proud of me. I think about my flamingos each night. I miss them, and they miss me. Mom and Dad promised me we would return someday. A week later, I emailed Franky.
Hi Franky,
Please call me Queen Scottie from now on.
The End
