Later that day, we went to the beach. Holly wore her glittery green jumpsuit, and Haylynn wore a black and red scuba suit. Everyone else wore normal swimsuits. I made some cool sandcastles with my book I brought. Van was running a race with Haylynn when he trampled over my favorite castle I made. “VAN! I worked hard on that!!” I shouted. But he was already much further away. After I dug myself a dungeon and stabbed an umbrella into the sand, I read one of my flamingo books in the shade. After about thirty minutes, Haylynn walked up to me. “Cool dugout! Want to swim with me?”
“Sure!” I said gleefully. I wrote “QUEEN SCOTTIE’S DUNGEON. DO NOT TOUCH” in the sand. I dove into the water and paddled along with Haylynn. She was a fast swimmer! We swam far past the shore, and I challenged her to a diving contest. We dove deep into the water. Haylynn touched the sand, and I know I nearly did too but then I started to run out of breath. When I came back up for air, I saw a shadow figure. When I looked closer, I was amazed.
It was the shadow of a pink flamingo.
