I woke up early on the dreaded Wednesday, about 5 am or so. I wasn't in the mood to go back to sleep, so I decided to write for a little while. A little while turned into a few hours. I quickly ate a snack from my snack stash and took my morning medicine. After that, I did some more writing.
I got a text from Mitchell, but I couldn't see what he said, because my phone wasn't recognizing my sweaty fingertips and it used a passcode instead of a pattern. I decided to sit and ruminate about what my passcode could be. When I figured it out, I already had like five texts from Mitchell.
"Hey, Cherry", "Why didn't you respond?", "Is something wrong?", "This isn't funny", and "I'll be over ASAP Don't worry Love you" were the five texts. I decided to just call him instead.
"Hello?" I asked as soon as he picked up.
"Do you know how worried I was when you didn't respond?!" Mitchell said, "I remembered that your ex tried to kill you, so I was worried that you were dead or something."
"Sorry," I said, "I was trying to open my phone, but it said no."
"Then how are you on your phone now?" Mitchell asked.
"I had to wait for it to let me put in the passcode again," I said, "So I waited 2 hours and 45 minutes."
"What kind of..." Mitchell started, but then trailed off.
"I know I'm an idiot," I said.
"You're not an idiot," Mitchell said, "I'm still coming to see you now."
"Wait, I'm not dressed," I said.
"Then get dressed, silly," Mitchell said, "See you soon."
"See you soon," I said.
Mitchell hung up and I quickly threw an outfit on, some nice black slacks and a green and black, vertical striped, button down. I threw on some black and white socks and a pair of black combat boots. I slicked my hair back with some mousse and put on my glasses.
"Who is that handsome fella?" I asked while pointing finger guns at myself in the mirror. I got a text from Mitchell as I was washing the mousse off my hands. I quickly unlocked my phone to see that Mitchell texted that he was here.
I quickly ran to the back door and opened it.
"You look nice for someone who took 20 mins to get changed," Mitchell said.
"I wanted to look nice for the meeting," I said, "Don't mess my hair up."
"Wasn't going to," Mitchell said, "But now it's tempting."
"So, what were you planning on doing, aside from taking me to T City for the meeting?" I asked, holding my hands behind my back. Mitchell smiled.
"Can we go sightseeing in T City?" Mitchell asked.
"There's hardly anything to see, but plenty of things to do," I said, "Like shopping?"
"You sure seem to like to shop," Mitchell said, "You wanted to shop in C City as well."
"Well C City is farther away," I said, "And is a better place to shop, because they have a lot of name brands."
"I get that," Mitchell said, "But why don't we just get in the car?" I sighed and then nodded. Mitchell smiled, went to the car and opened the door for me. "Come on in." I got in the car and Mitchell closed the door. He got in the other side and smirked.
"What's that look for?" I asked.
"You'll see, Cherry," Mitchell said as Mr. Young started the car, " Jon, can you take us to that place!" Then, Mitchell looked at me. "You're buckled right?"145Please respect copyright.PENANAvqYVyYKK2e
"Of course," I said, "My grandparents instilled that in me." Mitchell smiled.
"What lovely grandparents," Mitchell said, "And lovely grandson." I felt my face warm up.
Soon we arrived at the place that Mitchell wanted. It was Candy Town in K City. Mitchell opened the car door for me. I didn't even notice him get out of the car.
"What the hell, man?" I asked, "This isn't T City."
"But it's a good place to eat along the way," Mitchell said. I sighed.
"I do like this," I said, "But K City doesn't have much to offer." Mitchell kissed me and then smiled.145Please respect copyright.PENANATUZtdTnsP2
"You'll see," Mitchell said. I sighed and got out of the car.
When we went inside, it was like a pastel wonderland. The two workers were both wearing tulle skirts and pink shirts with white peter pan collars. There was blue and pink tulle on top of the glass displays.
"Hello, Mr. Minor. I'm guessing that this is Mr. Steele?" another lady asked, who I didn't notice before. She was wearing a beautiful lavender dress. I think she was the manager. There were a few tables and chairs scattered around the inside.
"Yes, Jessica," Mitchell said, "Do you still have the outfit I asked you to keep for me?"
"Yes, of course," Jessica said, then she turned to her workers, "Misha, can you take Mr. Steele into the back and give him the outfit to wear." The taller of the two workers can over to me and waved.
"Please come with me, Mr. Steele," Misha said. I was really confused, but followed her anyway. She brought me to the bathroom and handed me a lavender romper. "Please wear this."
"Okay," I said. I went in the bathroom and changed into the lavender romper. It had rainbow stars all over it and a star pocket on the chest. Somehow it fit perfectly. I was very confused, how did he know that I liked things like this? I'm glad I shaved last night and I wore a white tank top underneath out of habit, because it didn't have sleeves.
When I left the bathroom, Mitchell had the happiest face I've ever seen. He was almost drooling.
"Wonderful," Mitchell said, "Now it's time to pick out our dessert."
"I like gummies," I said as I sat down at the table across from Mitchell. I noticed that there were bottles of water at the table already.145Please respect copyright.PENANAB4ES29uINb
"What about something like a cake?" Mitchell asked.
"I like ice cream cake," I said, "Or lemon-lime cupcakes. Not a big fan of chocolate."
"Lemon-lime cupcakes?" Mitchell asked, "Who makes those?"
"I don't recall," I said, I had no idea if my mom in this world baked, so it was a half-lie.
"Hey, Jessica," Mitchell said as he waved over the manager.
"Yes, what is it, Mr. Minor?" Jessica asked.
"Do you make lemon-lime cupcakes?" Mitchell asked. Jessica smiled and nodded.
"Yes," Jessica said, "Do you want to eat them here or take them with you?"
"Let's eat them here," Mitchell said.
"Oh, wonderful!" Jessica said, "Is there anything you need to drink, aside from water?"
"If you have cream soda, I'd like some," I said.
"And for you?" Jessica asked.145Please respect copyright.PENANA9vlWSu1VLe
"I'll have a cola," Mitchell said.
"Okay," Jessica said, "I'll be right back."145Please respect copyright.PENANA8d3xiWk5Ps
"What the fuck are you planning, Mr. Minor?" I asked.
"You'll see," Mitchell said.
