I love poetry, I love reading, hearing and writing poetry.

The only real restrictions are that of oneentry per person and nothing over a thousand words.

The topic can be anything near and dear to your heart, or something not so near. It can be in any style as well, and remember have fun!

The rules of this contest are simple. Out of these 5 song lyrics , pick one and write a story keeping the lyrics as a base. You may or may not  work the theme of the entire song in your story. Be Creative!

Every story needs a good opening line or paragraph to begin with. For example some of my favourites include:

All of these are great books that I highly recommend.

But now its your turn.

Make up a fake title for a book then write the opening first line or paragraph.

Some Rules:

Nothing too excessive, the rating is PG.Characters from other books/movies can be used. But keep them in character please!Two entries per person.If you choose to write a paragraph rather than a sentence, please keep it within two.

Okay, so here's my contest for the month of September. Write a three-sentence story (beginning, middle, climax) about anything. It can be be of any genre, but it must be appropriate (PG).

Remember, cannot be more than three sentences.

The title says it all... Tell us a story in exactly 6 words, nothing more, nothing less. A story of passion, heartbreak, a pet... Anything you want! Make it something meaningful that will resonate in the mind of your reader. Take me to that desolate place in your mind. I want to feel that deep-seated pain, love, humor, tragedy, suspense, or anything else you're feeling. MUST be only 6 words. Two entries per person. Winner will be based on like count :) get out there and knock us dead!

The world is ending, things are falling apart around you. You turn to the person closest to you, be it your lover, friend, a family member or total stranger. In that moment, just before oblivion you mutter these words....

Basically, to sum up my dramatic opening, write a sentence or two of the things you would say if you knew your life (and the world)was about to end in a few moments time.

Try to make it as interesting as possible! It can be serious, funny or even just plain stupid. Have at it people! No more than one paragraph and three entries please~

Describe something, anything in anyway and let the people figure what the thing is in the comments. It can be super unfigurable or pretty simple. It can be funny or it can not be funny. It can be a few words or as many words as you want.
